Well, it took 45 years and, yes, it was worth the wait. The Treehouse was fun and quiet. We were kinda in the high middle towards SSR Grandstand, 7045. The walk wasn’t bad, if you like walking - which we do.
We arrived late afternoon. At first I was bummed about the location = no water view. It was quiet and totally secluded from the other treehouses. People have said you can park a car under the treehouse but I must have misunderstood that because there was no way. Moot as we didn’t have a car. The deck is virtually unusable without a can of OFF - LOL. We came home May 9 and I'm still scratching. The master bedroom has a ‘wet room' (thank you HGTV for teaching me that). I enjoyed the wet room configuration as first I thought I'd be climbing in and out of the tub to shower but the wet room took that off my plate. Yea! FYI, the bunkroom is a normal set of twin bed bunks. I read somewhere the bunks were only for kids but there is no reason they cannot accommodate adults, unless there’s a weight issue with the top bunk.
There was such a nice breeze for our first 3 days that, even though the temps were in the high 80’s and low 90's, it was actually a bit chilly in the shade. The evening we arrived SSR BS said our groceries hadn’t arrived so we dumped our luggage at the treehouse and walked over to Disney Springs. We scored 2 stools at the Hole in the Wall bar and snuggled down for the evening. We were in our happy place. I had dyed my hair for our anniversary trip and did a ‘grease slick’ of purple. We were people watching all the people noticing my hair. LOL. Fun! On our way back to the treehouse, we stopped off at BS and they had our food order. BS’s gave us a ride back to the treehouse with our groceries. It wasn’t until I checked my email later that I realized the groceries had been delivered at 2:30p so not sure what happened there but we’d had a good night so we were happy.
The next day DH’s brother and wife joined us. They’d been at French Quarter with family. Instead of flying home they joined us at the treehouse. It was nice to have company. We split up during the day and join each other at night. SIL is hardcore MK. We’re more Baseline at HS. This trip and our trip in September will be about the parks because the next two trips are cruise sandwiches and I can’t justify the cost of an AP. Thank you for the Epcot extended hours tip on Monday nights because we finally rode Remy. It was cute and we enjoyed it. DH was thrilled not to have to get up early for rope drop. The next day, we picked up our AP Stitch Magnet and explored the new Moana inspired water exhibit, which was also way more fun than I anticipated. For all the fellow white wine drinkers, Rose ‘n Crown finally has a decent Chardonnay, along with the Pino Gris. Yea!
I had arrived on our vacation with a cold, courtesy of our GS. During the arriving descent into MCO I thought I was going to have an aneurysm but I made it down. By Wednesday I was feeling better. Going home I wasn’t as lucky. Apparently I wasn’t hydrating enough to accommodate a new BP med and the poor plane inhabitants suffered along with me as they missed out on beverage service. SW handles a medical emergency well. They were so nice while having to deal with me. They were in contact with doctors on the ground the whole time. We didn’t have to land early because they helped me out of my crisis. We did get immediate taxing into Philadelphia and the EMT’s verified that the dehydration crisis was over. Poor DH has been looking at me for a week saying, “How you feeling now?” Ugh. So tip to people starting dehydrating BP med: hydrate and eat something the day of departure. My doc took me off that med and started me on another very low dose and I’m back! Although, I know walking onto that SW plane in September (if they don’t ban me for being a PIA) will be scary. I think there’ll be more, “How you feeling now?”
