I am not really good with trip reports, so here are some highlights of our trip. We stayed one night at SSR and then moved to Boardwalk for 7 nights in a 2bd with our friends.
Our 2bd at SSR was perfect. We loved the location: Grandstand, next to the pool, first floor. We had driven straight through from Maryland, so we got in pretty late. Still had enough time for dinner (Artist Palette) and drinks at the Turf Club Lounge. I noticed they moved the pool table back to the lounge. But, they seemed to be missing some chairs around some of the tables.
We moved to the Boardwalk the next day. We had boardwalk view in the section next to Crest of the Wave. Crest of the Wave was still under construction.
We had a refurbished room. I liked most of the refurb except for:
Things I liked:
We tried some new things this trip:
The Flower & Garden Festival was great as always. it's my favorite festival at Epcot. The only thing, since we were at the end of the festival, a lot of the merchandise was gone. But, what was left was 30% off, plus the AP/DVC discount.
We got to see the Spinners! They put on a great show and sang all my favorites. Loved them!!!
We saw Luminous 3 or 4 times during the week we were there. I really like this show!

We had a refurbished room. I liked most of the refurb except for:
- No ceiling fans
- The bar stools are pretty but need a taller back.
- The balcony chairs are very uncomfortable. I needed a pillow for my back.
- No table/chairs in studio. The ottomans are good for a foot stool. not for sitting.
- The kitchen cabinets don't look very good. the tile work is pretty.
Things I liked:
- The sofa is very nice. Pretty color and comfortable.
- There are pillows on the sofa!!
- The hallways paint color and carpet is very pretty.
- The art work is very pretty.
- The new soap dispensers are better than the last ones.
- There is a neat tile mural over the soaking tub.
- The bench seating at the table is very comfy.
We tried some new things this trip:
- Yachtmans Steakhouse. It was delicious. We will definitely go back.
- Art Smith's Homecoming. The food here was really good. The portions are pretty big.
- Amorette's Cake Decoration Experience. This was fun. It's one price for 1 to 2 people. It includes beverages and the cake. You either decorate a Mickey or Minnie. Depends on the day of the week. The cake can easily feed 4 to 6 people. You can get a second cake for $50 more. Unless you have a lot of people, it's too much cake. The cake is perishable and must be refrigerated. It lasts about 5 days
- Savor the Savanna. This was a really neat tour. It included the safari ride with your personal guide and food at this lovely covered deck overlooking the savanna. the tour was 2 hours. We would do this again.
- Space 220. We did the fixed price lunch. The food was good and the experience was neat. Next time, I think we will do the lounge.
