I have successfully talked Mr. Foodie into different ships, longer cruises and therefore….the new island. Now, I need to come out of retirement and work. Overall the reviews have been very good. Congrats! Still haven’t been able to talk my hubby into a cruise at all (Mr. claustrophobic doesn’t want to be “trapped” on a ship) so looking forward to a trip report. We did a weekend on The Wish for our first one and my parents came with, but my mom said "only with a verandah". They love cruising. My mom loves not cooking! We are hooked.

Congrats! Still haven’t been able to talk my hubby into a cruise at all (Mr. claustrophobic doesn’t want to be “trapped” on a ship) so looking forward to a trip report. First.....Always book a Verandah/Balcony cabin.
Second.....The ships are big, the newest ships are huge!
Third....Book ships that have a port every day. That way you are only confined to the ship at night, when you are sleeping.
My first cruise was on on Royal Caribbean. If it was not for that cruise, I might not own DVC.....believe that or not.
Anyway, we went cheap and booked a port hole cabin to save money. Well, that was a huge mistake and I never wanted to cruise again. But we gave Disney a chance on a 3 night cruise a few years later and had a 100% better experience over that first cruise.

We are trying MSC Yacht Club on the Seashore. It is half the price of the Haven. We even got a loyalty match from our DCL loyalty, which gave us gold status on MSC plus we got a 10% discount from that loyalty. There is only one level up from Gold on MSC and that’s Diamond. I had to laugh but MSC really values Disney loyalty way more then Princess and NCL.

Our friends just got back last month from a short MSC cruise to Key West and Nassau. They liked the cruise, but didn't love it nor hated it. It met their needs and the ship was nice.
Interesting that MSC is rolling out the Yacht Club, modeled after the NCL Haven. That is smart, because I feel the NCL Haven is far superior over DCL Concierge.

I would not sail MSC unless you stay in the Yacht Club. There have been many posts comparing the Yacht Club to the Haven. The loyalty match really gives a good discount. Lots of same amenities as Haven, butler, concierge service, priority embarkation and disembarkation, tensor ports, etc. But where they are different is you get a stocked mini fridge complimentary, unlimited Spa visits included, and their private island has a Yacht Club only beach area with its own restaurant and waitstaff on the beach! I’ll let ya know how it is. We sail next March 2025 for 7 days with an overnight at their private island.
