We booked a last minute cruise on the Wish—3 night June 28. Our assigned port arrival time is 1:30. Our last cruise was pre-Covid and I believe at that time I was able to reserve parking at the cruise terminal parking next to the ship. I am seeing that advance reservations are no longer sold. I am concerned that the lot may be full with this late PAT. HOW STRICT are they about arrival times ?? Will we be turned away if we arrive earlier?? Should I be concerned that the parking lot will fill up before our arrival time? My husband would rather not use “offsite” parking and a shuttle.

Port Canaveral discontinued parking reservations many years ago. There are around 1900 total parking spaces for Terminal 8 and unlikely to fill up. Also, many disembarking passengers also drove and they free up parking spaces. Most off-site parking lots no longer serve DCL due to the port arrival times. No issue arriving early, but you will not be allowed to enter the terminal building until they call your PAT.

Thank you— So we could arrive earlier and drop luggage with the attendant, select parking spot and wait to enter the terminal? Is there a way to know what boarding groups have been called or if open boarding has begun before leaving car to enter the terminal? We are in our 70s and have some mobility issues. Slow walking and difficulty standing for long periods of time.

They will not turn you away. There is a bathroom on the ground floor of the parking garage. You can drop your bags and then park and then wander over. There isn't much seating though but there is a bench on the garage side and walls on the other.
The garage opens around 10:30. I wouldn't get there that early though. My kids had 12:30 and arrived around 11 ish. If I remember correctly they let them in early too. If there is a lull in people they let you in early. Plenty of seats inside too. They still adhere to boarding groups though.
When we have gone with my parents of nearly 90 and 86 they have let us in early to sit inside the terminal. All depends on who is outside though.

At Port Canaveral, they will not let you into the terminal building until your PAT is called. Check in was moved to the ground floor and there is no extra space for those arriving early. Not sure what they do when open boarding starts, but prior to that they are very strict in letting people into the terminal.

Not sure what they do when open boarding starts, but prior to that they are very strict in letting people into the terminal. They let us in the parking garage before our PAT 100% and have on 4 cruises. They do not check when you PARK. They allowed our kids over Memorial Day weekend as well. I'm talking parking garage. I also know for sure (100%) that they sometimes allow you in the terminal and through security and up to the seats inside the terminal. We sailed in early May and they allowed my husband and I and my elderly parents into the terminal before our PAT and they were still calling boarding groups inside. Now, I said it depends on the situation and the person who is outside, but the CM let us go in early...an hour early and we sat down inside UPSTAIRS. I was recovering from a broken foot, was in a walking boot and was still having to use a walker and I had two very old people following me. I didn't even ask...she told me I could go in and we did. The OP said they have mobility issues. 3 of my group did.
