How will this work for people doing a split stay? We have one reservation starting July 31 and go to our new location a few days later. From the Twitter links helenabear posted, it looks like it can be selected per-day. Since you will have a reservation each day, I'm not sure why a split stay should have any impact at all.
Cheers.
Each separate reservation would have a different 7-day in advance booking window. Since you can book for your entire length of stay, it makes split stays less advantageous (just like for dining reservations).

It's a rubbish change for international guests. As Disney are saying you can only book your first day when you arrive in the US.
So will be left with not much to book for most of your stay

If I understand the new system and remember the FP system, I see a slight difference.
With the FP+ system, you book three FP's ahead of time, use them in he park, and after you used your third you could get a fourth, us fourth and get a fifth, etc.
The FAQ for the new system says, "Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections can only be made one at a time. On the day of your park visit, once you redeem a selection, you can use the My Disney Experience app to check availability for another Lightning Lane Multi Pass experience—and add to your plans."
If I am interpreting this correctly, you can constantly have three LL's in your "bank."

Yeah, I missed this aspect as I was thinking about "length of stay" issues. This is certainly a valid concern.
Cheers.

It's still too complicated, especially for a first-time visitor, and it's another charge. Doesn't make it any better adding more words or rewording to hide what it is, a money grab. I'm helping DS plan his honeymoon trip the end of July, and he already has no clue how to navigate Disney stuff despite going many times; his last trip was 2021. I can't imagine going my first time and trying to figure out all of this "stuff" Disney has added to make it so much better to go to WDW.

Interesting. A for-profit company charges money for a product that people are willing to pay for and it's a "money grab." I guess that they should give services away for free because I know we all work/worked for companies that could have charged for products but didn't because, you know, it's nicer that way. For that matter, why are they charging for park admission? That's yet another money grab compared to the days when admission was free and only rides cost money. Those greedy scoundrels!
Of course, people also whine that their stock is not doing well and profits are down...
Cheers.

But was buried in some info and others have asked disney. Who has categorically said International guests cannot pre select 7 days out and only on first day of being in the US. So if you had a pre Disney stay you're fine. If not you can only book once you're on US soil. Its something to do with the geo fencing the added to MDE.

Not sure what phone you use but on Android I can fake where I look like I'm from even on apps if necessary. VPNs should help too. Sounds dumb though.

But maybe borrow someone's android or find a burner one for cheap? Really sad that this occurs. Also sad that there aren't more options for iPhones but I get why (it requires developer mode for Android which isn't hard but still not what some are comfortable with)

Speaking of this being a shock and change for new guests... For new guests it's not a change at all! It will just be the way it is!
It is only us who have been a million times that can speak to the changes over the years. This one will be good. I am excited to be there to experience day 1. I remember being there the day Disney fixed FP+ so you could no longer use friends' magic bands that were not used for admission and load them up w FP's at a kiosk. It's neat to be part of changes like that when the guests and CMs are learning a new system. A little chaos, a little anticipation, a little mystery...

I would have done it to guarantee GOG but it is still an add on so will not use at Epcot. Same at MK because there is plenty there we can ride and be content even if we miss the top. AK only demands FOP so not needed there.
Now DHS, is a maybe. Could guarantee ROR, SDD, and one other.

Am I the only one who thinks of Fifth Element with the new name?
