Just saw this on the DPB: disneyparksblog.com/wdw/plan-ahead-with-lightning-lane-entry-at-walt-disney-world-starting-july-24/?CMP=SOC-DPFY24Q3wo0620240027FThe quick blurb I copied from near the top of the article: On July 24, Walt Disney World will introduce new, simpler names to provide more clarity for everyone. Disney Genie+ service will become Lightning Lane Multi Pass, while individual Lightning Lane will now be known as Lightning Lane Single Pass. We will also be updating Lightning Lane passes to help you: Make Lightning Lane plans before you’re here, for added confidence. Choose your experiences and times prior to purchasing, so you know what you’re getting. Book Lightning Lane passes for multiple vacation days, all in a single day.

I think this is wonderful news. Being able to book your whole trip at one time and to not have to do it while you are on your trip, and you won't have to stay as glued to your phone anymore. I am sure someone will find something negative, always happens, but I think this is great news for anyone with a trip planned.

Those names are better. I still don't know why they don't use distinctly different names like Lightning Lane and Special Access or something like that. Why insist on using the term Lightning Lane in both?
I am intrigued by your last comments - "choose your experiences and times prior to purchasing." I'm going to look at that. Is this going to be like old FP+?
EDIT: Just read the details in the link. It is just like FP+. You choose 3 LLs in advance and then can choose more as you use the ones you booked. It sounds like once you use 1, you can book another LL. No mention of tiers. So if there are no tiers, that is even better than old FP+. Resort guests and certain hotels can book 7 days in advance. It is 3 days for everyone else.

This is great. I didn't care for G+. Almost never used it. Going back to 3 in advance will make this worth purchasing. We're going July 24 so will be there opening day for this - fun!

Disney Tourist Blog has a good article on the new system.
We check in late on 8/1, so if I understand the new procedure, we can book our LL's on 7/25.

I've said since the beginning of Genie+ that if I could be guaranteed three rides of my choice, then I would consider purchasing. We will be in WDW during the launch. Depending on crowds (hearing they're low currently) I might try it!

This is a huge overall plus for those who want to use LLs. For those who don't use LLs, this could be a minus as rides will likely have LLs fully booked even at rope drop. I expect the popularity of LL to increase. Just look how many on this site over the years have said they would use it if they could book in advance. Rope drop will still be good, but it won't take long for the LLs to slow the standby line down.
No mention of pricing change. Is is too much to ask to keep the price the same?

So back to FP+
There will be tiers of rides at MK, Epcot and DHS. Not at AK.
Book 7 days ahead of staying onsite, 3 days ahead of offsite. And for length of stay up to 14 days. And you can choose your times.
ILLs stay, one at each park.
I’ll be honest, I love this! As much as we made G+ work, I found it far more stressful having to plan on the day and try and make sure we got to our favourite rides. I much prefer to do that all in advance.

For years I wondered when they would monetize FP+. Then the pandemic hit and there was just G+, with no advance. This is just paid FP+. Depending upon price, I may use this. the use model for G+ now just doesn't work for me. This could. Depending on pricing.
Cheers.

Tiers mean you are paying for only one good ride a day . It will expensive to guarantee you get remy or ride . They other tiers will be useless such as figment or dumbo

Without trots I could make this work . But tiers mean there will only be one good ride a day for my expensive genie plus
