I'd never consider buying there - the location and the dues are the primary reasons, along with not needing any more points. That said, we'll be there for SB's weekend at the end of July and I'm looking forward to experiencing them. Since we'll be "in the neighborhood" I also booked Hoop Dee Doo Revue for dinner on his birthday.

Interesting. Maybe the sales reps think the prices/fees on the cabins are so off-putting that they'd rather try to salvage a sale somehow by pushing Riviera. I still think Poly sells itself and they won't really need to push it. I guess we'll see <snip> VGF sold out last year - but with the welcome home incentives I am not at all surprised. If they do the same for poly then it will probably sell out in a similar fashion, if they keep the price high, it will remain stagnant. I more care about points per month vs how long to sell. I haven't seen an indication of exactly how many points will be added. They did use some incentives to sell VGF, but it actually had an issue of just resort studios. Lack of resale restrictions, highly desirable location and room types will help this one sell. Disney ROFRing the way they did says a lot to me about expected sales and prices.

I looked at the points chart and was surprised they were so high!

I think the cabins look nice. I'm not sure they are for me, but someone will enjoy them.
Is the new Poly tower going to be part of the current Poly? Or will it be recognized as a different DVC?

Cabins are interesting - definately not buying, but will stay there and try it. Same - I will stay in them because I want to have stayed at every DVC location at least once. If I have to say something nice about them, I do like the bunk beds. They're really cute and I would be excited to sleep in them if I were a little kid.

My very first trip was to Ft Wilderness as a kid. The offerings in the cabin will keep us out (queen vs king, 1 bathroom only, etc). They will serve a great purpose for many though.

Kid could get the murphy. But we're still stuck with 1 bathroom in which we'd have to go through the sleeping area of kid if we needed to use. And no washing machine. Or towels at the pool - leads back to no washing machine.

I didn't know they were queen beds either - DH is out, but I can stay with my kids

That's what we have at home and anything larger simply takes up more floor space than necessary. Kudos to Disney on this!
Cheers.

Kudos to Disney on this! Cheers. You clearly don't live with a bed hog. What works for one will not for another. Just tossing that out there as someone who nearly fell out of bed nightly in a queen. It simply is a no go. All that aside, not sure how going smaller gets kudos anyway. No one is saying you can't use only a section of a bed. I know I do when solo traveling.

Queen beds were perfect for us until Robin's accident. Now, a king bed works best for her to maintain comfort, otherwise she will have "extra" pain the next day.
Also, another side effect from the accident.....before our beds were soft and fluffy, super comfortable. Now, the firmer the mattress, the more comfortable Robin is sleeping. I still like fluffy.....

Cheers.
