We had quite the busy trip. in addition to my family, one of my son's best friends also came along for 10 of the nights (and he hadn't been to disney in about 15 years. We started at SSR (3 nights), moved to BCV (11 nights), then VGF (4 nights), then back to SSR (1 night) , and finally ended at BWV(2 nights). My son's friends favorite resort was SSR because it was the most relaxing. Since my son's friend was there, we covered a lot of parks. I think we exhausted him towards the end as we did three parks in one day - started at AKV, then hopped to HS, followed by MK. That was the only day we purchased the Genie plus. I really miss the free FP system. We watched the fireworks at MK and got stuck in the after fireworks crowd leaving the park.

Wow....The most days I have ever spent on a Disney trip was 9 days. Sounds like a lot of fun and something I would like to tackle one day!

That is very cool! 3 weeks! The longest trip we had was 10 days for 1999 NYE.
How was switching resorts that many times?

Yes thinking same here how do you do 3 weeks? Did it feel like too much? The most we did once was 10 days but discussed doing 2-3 weeks at some point and wondered if we would feel like too much {is that possible?}. Moving may have broken it up for you...wondered what you thought pooh bears mom? ?

Not to steal this thread, but wife and I always do two weeks, sometimes a few days more. (The downside is we only go once per year, I know many people go way more than that, but we don't want 4-day trips.) In my opinion, it becomes less about "going to Disney to do all the parks" and becomes more of a "vacation". We stay the whole time in a 1 bedroom at OKW and we sleep in, eat breakfast in the room, sometimes go lay by the pool, and THEN start to talk about where we want to eat lunch or dinner. Parks are maybe six hours, tops, and as little as two or three, with little emphasis on making sure we do everything. MK, for instance, is usually "I want cheeseburger eggrolls" followed by "lets see how long the line is for Pirates" followed by "let's do Big Thunder" then maybe some ice cream or something, then maybe we hit another ride, maybe not.
Just how we do it, anyways.

Three weeks is actually very relaxing. When my sons friend was with us we did alot of park stuff. When he left, we relaxed more. To me, the boardwalk area is relaxing because we can cook breakfast in the room, walk into epcot for a quick service for lunch, then either cook in the room for dinner, drive to disney springs, or get something in epcot or boardwalk area. Honestly I could stay there the entire summer at either the ssr, ccv/brr, or one of the epcot resorts. I could not stay longer than one week at vgf or poly because they both feel busy to me. Don't get me wrong, I do love those resorts, I just could not do more than a few days there. I think the key to a long trip is making sure your resort is relaxing at the end of the day. I love being on the mk side to visit mk, but it is busy ( and maybe it's because we were there for the 4th and that made it worse). Parking was very difficult at VGF.
In terms of changing rooms, I feel like it breaks up the trip into new trips, however my husband and kids are not fans of it. This year the rooms were all ready by 4, which is not always the case as I have waited until 6 for bcv room one year, and at vgf a few years ago, my room was not ready until 9.

We once did 14 days and it felt a bit long. We got tired. So think if we went longer we would have to take more down days. In April we only did 6 and it felt short. Our sweet spot is 9 or 10 days. Sep we will be at PVB from 1-10. Perfect trip length for us. We’ll likely do the lazy river at TL a couple times, which is the relaxing part, plus some evenings in Poly pools with Hearts of the Polynesian… mmmmmmm.

After that, we'd be done and wanting to go home or elsewhere. We loe our WDW, but there is simply not enough there for more than that, for us.
Cheers.

I like longer trips better. More time to chill. 10 nights is good. I'd happily try a month someday!
Then again, I like the other parks and touristy things around Orlando. So I'm rarely just at Disney.

Yes, when we did 10 days (October 2021-I was on sabbatical), we stayed at OKW for 6 for the low points and CC for 4 due to availability .....we cooked breakfast and only went into parks, I think, only 5 times! We did DS several times, went to the pool, relaxed, read, was wonderful never bored. Doing a week in January and looking forward to that. I like being where there is a little action and people around....

Nice trip. Was this your first long stay? You moved around a bit . Was it okay/too much? I can't even write the words - late husband - a few years ago we had started going away twice a year 2 to 2 1/2 weeks each time. Spring and Fall. We loved it. It was our "snow birding". We split the stay - WDW and Vero. The plan was to stay a month two years from now once our youngest grandson started pre-school (babysit). I have two trips planned with my kids/grandchildren reserved. I know I will eventually go solo. Not sure how long I I can't make it solo - it will definitely not be a split stay anymore.
