We own PVB x 2 contracts. Love being on the monorail and our favorite is Epcot for festivals. We have never stayed at an Epcot resort and want to give it a try next year.
Any tips for getting a studio at 7 months? Which resort is better, boardwalk or beach club? What festival is easier to get in, if any? Which room type is easier to book?
Any tips would be much appreciated.

Get on right at 8am. BCV has 110 studios with majority being a lock off option - 34 are dedicated. For BWV expect only garden available. There are 164 garden studios with 74 dedicated. BCV has some of the worst views. Better dining and closer to Epcot and skyliner. BWV is my favorite of the two being closer to Swan and Dolphin for food options there. We use the community hall often. It probably will be easier to get into. I've stayed at both though many times and we don't own at either.

Or If you have the points, walk the reservation.

right at the seven month mark, book your stay. BCV 2 bedrooms have become harder to book than the studios. I think it varies every year which one is more in demand. One bedrooms are the easiest to get. In terms of which resort is better - that all depends. I personally love both resorts, BCV was my first 'home' and will always be home to me as I have so many wonderful memories of my mother with my kids throughout the years there - crying as I write. BWV is also great. BCV pool is always crowded (at least in the summer when we go). BWV does not have any dedicated two bedrooms - only 1 bedroom lockoffs - not sure if that matters. BWV hallways seem to go on forever. If anyone has mobility issues and you do not have a scooter, then BCV might be the better option. BWV has the better community hall - if you use it which we do and that is important then book BWV. BWV has the better views, most BCV views are crappy. Honestly you can't go wrong with either resort as I think they are both great! Book whichever one you can get at the 7 month window:) BW - Boardwalk view and standard are the hardest to get - therefore - garden view is easiest:)

Keep in mind if Storm along Bay was swaying your decision it will be closed for refurbishment, January 2025 through June 2025.

Use the waitlist. We've had good luck @ BWV. We normally book 1BR, which may be a bit easier as the 2BR are all lockoff @ BWV.
I agree that garden view is the most likely. If you do get garden view, it's a no brainer to waitlist for a boardwalk view - it's the same price!

Great tips! Does the park reservations screw things up? Cutting through Epcot to get to MK for example used to be easier. I forget all the rules now.

If you have a regular ticket, you don't need park reservations. If you have a non expiring ticket or an AP, you'll still need a reservation. BUT...you can hop at any time, so if you need a reservation, make one for Epcot, cut through and hop to MK

Also after 1 or 2 o'clock, if you have not entered a park you can enter any park - does not have to be the one you made the reservation for.

I never really looked at point charts. Boardwalk is very low in points. Think we will give that a try.
