Even a relatively minor named storm can change plans - everyone doing okay as Debby makes her way up the coast?
When I looked, seemed like the only change Disney World made for this storm was to close the water park for a day.

Here in Kissimmee FL everything is fine and back to normal. Got loads of rain. And some bands of wind. But wasn't bad and, in fact, my son flew into MCO from Baltimore on Monday. Amidst it all.
Hope everyone else is good. Thinking it was moving up the coast.

Just lots of rain in Sanford. No flooding. We'll take it for sure.

Tornado warnings in NEPA. Sun keeps coming out and DH says that's not good. Lots of wind but it's a hot Aruba-type wind.

And NOAA says, not surprisingly, that there will be more hurricanes that "normal" this year. Welcome to the new normal.
Cheers.

we got home (savannah, ga) last night. we had a planned rendezvous with daughter and her family. They had flight cancellation issues but were still able to fly into MCO. fortunately, my daughter insisted they only do carry on. they rescheduled flight was supposed to take them to West palm beach. Mid-flight they announced they needed to detour to MCO for technical issues, so they were able to get off. Her original car rental reservation was still accessible, so they were good to go! They are leaving MCO tonight and hoping they won't have issues landing in NY.
Our reservation, August 6-8, was for a few days in the middle of theirs. we decided to drive down on the 5th instead because we though GA might get be getting the worst of it on Tuesday. there wasn't much traffic and we seemed to have hit the sweet spots in the outer bands; rain was very light. By the time we reached Daytona, the storm was Northwest of us and just making landfall. from the I95 - I4 intersection to WDW, no rain at all. It was a great decision. we weren't sure we could get our original resssie modified but there enough hotels in the area it would be worth the adventure.
when I called to get my original ressie modified by adding Aug 5, was told there weren't any studios at BLT. So we accepted a split stay for 1 night at OKW. when we arrived, the room was ready, but we asked if we could be moved to the first floor or moved to BLT. It always pays to ask in person! Got some pixie dust and we were moved to BLT. The 2 Ressie's were linked to the same room so only needed to recheck in for the August 6-8 ressie! Had lunch at OKW/ Good's Food to Go while waiting for our BLT room.
Overall, there were occasional rainy moments alternating with gusts of hot humid wind. the humidity in the air was heavy, hot and thicker than I remember from living in Fl for 10 years. And best of all we had a great time with family (which IS ALL THAT MATTERS!)
