We did a last minute trip - stayed at BWV, went to HS ticketed event and the Halloween Party. Overall likes and dislikes BWV- great location, great room, and better value on points (std. view) vs. BCV. Great community hall. I also like the gym better at BWV than BC. Dislikes - that I never notices before - the bakery - too small for the resort. It is always crowded, and when people wait for their food, they wait in front of the refill station which makes a small area even more crowded. The water from the refill dispenser was broken the entire time we were there, and they had water on the counter next to the refill station. I wish they would move the bakery to a larger area. I think the restaurant that closed next to the general store would be a much better place for the bakery as it needs a bigger place. Ticketed events - Halloween party was mobbed!! Not sure what they mean by limited number of tickets as it felt more crowded than the 4th of July. Trick or treating was fun, and it was awesome to see the costumes! I loved the families that came fully themed! Couple of my favorites were the Toy Story families (saw 2), Emperors New Groove (saw 1). As for rides, kids did space during first parade, we did haunted mansion during fireworks. I was planning to stay to watch the 11 parade, but kids wanted to go as they were nervous everyone would leave after parade. If i knew they would leave then I would have watched first parade:( Well we just have to plan to go next year:)
As an aside - I was hoping for the free mickey bars that they give out at the ticketed events:) - but I was told they don't do it for the halloween party:(

We can get what we want in the morning from the coffee shop in the lobby. None of the bakery's breakfast options appeal to me, nor do the lunch/dinner options. Moving it to a larger space is a great idea.

Not a fan of the Bakery location either. We are checking in Thursday at the BWV for a 3 day weekend. Last time I was there, we used the "new" coffee shop. I agree about the gym....BWV is superior with the BCV gym, in my opinion.

We love the Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese at the Bakery when we return in the Evenings.
I agree, it is not a true counter service. I also agree the old Big River Grill location would make a better option and be much like the Counter Service at Grand Floridian. But I wonder if the contracted restaurants have some type of exclusion in their contract for a quick service with table seating???

In terms of ticketed events I really enjoyed the HS event. It did not feel as crowded as the halloween party event (which was mobbed). No ride was a walk on. Haunted mansion was a 50 minute wait. minetrain line was really long - wait time ready 45 minutes, but it looked longer to me. Kids also got on Big thunder - right time - the ride was down and we were in the area getting our candy, when the ride came back up - so that was a walk on. Space was a 35 minute wait - but that was during the first parade. People mover was a walk on and one that I always do. did not check tron wait times. Pirate was also a walk on. I guess the smaller rides were all walk on while the big rides are where the lines were.

Thanks for the report. How was the new renovated room at BWV, if you got one? I have had BWV booked like 3 times in order to check out the new rooms but had to keep modifying to other places. I just managed to grab a standard view studio for opening night of F&W so, fingers crossed, we keep that and get a renovated room. Hoping they are nice as I was not thrilled with the state of the rooms over there. Might stay more if it's nice.

The renovated rooms look good and I really like the art work in the rooms. The pull down sofa allows for an extra seat when the sofa is down instead of the sofa taking up the entire space in the one-bedroom unit.

Nice summary, thanks for sharing. Sorry the kids cheated you out of the parade, my favorite part of the party.

Glad you had fun! We love the BWV and stay there often. We seldom use the Bakery as we typically bring or own breakfast items or do a sit-down at the Trattoria al Forno. When we have used the Bakery we are typically early enough that the crowd isn't bad. While I understand that they need a bigger bakery, I believe they desperately need to replace the Grill with another "coffee shop" type lunch / dinner place.
