Thanks for all the reviews. DH and I might try Jaleo's on our October trip. I've been wanting to do that for a long time.
Funny to read about Squid Lips in Vero. DH and I agree, that is one of the worst meals/experiences we've ever had. We didnt' go for drinks, music/atmosphere, just food, late afternoon, with the kids. I've never eaten at a place with a more rotten stench. It was like sh$$ mixed with rotting fish, and garbage. We even moved tables, from the window area, but it permeated the whole place. Food was subpar for what we paid, nothing special and pricey. But it had decent reviews, so people like it, We must've just caught it on some bad day.

I know a local, and her advice was to avoid all of the waterside places in Sebastian. Riverside Cafe' in Vero has been consistently good. We've had dinner there the last 3-4 trips. It's on the Indian River, not the ocean. Nice view of the water, docks, boats, etc. if you sit outside. Service has been great. Food isn't wow but consistently good. We like the tuna poke nachos.

Nice summary, thanks for taking the time, I’m overdue for a return to Jaleo.

We tried Jaleo in July, luckily with Andrew as well. We tried the Jaleo experience, a home run for sure. He recommended a special gin and tonic that may be the best drink I ever had. Cannot remember the name of it.

We hated Squid Lips in Cocoa Beach so it's interesting to see we aren't alone.
