I thought about that as I wrote the above. Maybe I should say - "for now." And I do realize that this is an issue for many, so I don't take my mobility lightly. It is a gift that I'm willing to work to maintain because of its value to me.
Cheers.
Little known facts about my wife.....
Robin use to run several miles a day. Then she got Plantar Fasciitis really bad. This went on for like two years, followed by discovery of a tumor in her foot. After about 4 years of dealing with the foot issues, she was in a head on collision that has permanently ended any hope of ever running and all impact sports/exercises.

I went by the DVC kiosk on the Wish last week just to see what options were available for current members. I asked specifically about the Riviera as that is quickly becoming my favorite resort.
Current direct purchase price is $225.00, so 200 points would be $45,000.
$17.00 incentive per point would cost $37,600 for 200 points
DVC would "buy back" the 2023 UY points since I have a Sept. UY, so a check would be sent for $20.00 per point, or $4,000.00 once closing was complete.
$37,600 minus the $4,000 = $33,600 or $168.00 per point.
Maintenance fees would be $1,772.00 per year
I do not need another 200 points, but this offer seems like such a good deal. I did not ask if there were any incentives at all for the minimum of 50 point purchases.
I am thinking I will pass on this offer and see what they offer on the Vancouver-Hawaii sailing I am taking in September. If this deal goes away before then, so be it.
Would you jump on this deal?
We got the same sales pitch on our Magic sailing. The price was good, not as good when we originally added-on but still good. We thought about it, did some research on current Riviera resales and decided to pass. We already bout on resale at Riviera and when I find another "gem" of a deal, I will probably put in an offer.

The numbers don't add up btw.
$17 from $225 is $208, which would be $41,600 for 200 points. $37,600 is a $37 incentive at $188/point.
Maybe current direct is $205?

The sheet I have shows $225 as the original direct cost per point. I am not sure where the Guide made the mistake in his numbers, but I double checked that I typed in just what he gave me. I had not double checked his math, but that is a moot point since I am not taking the offer anyway.
***Edited to add that there is also a $3,000 additional Welcome Home credit that I left off the original numbers. At any rate, there are some resales in my UY out there that are cheaper than what Disney is offering.
I will be sailing on the Vancouver to Hawaii cruise in September and I will see if the deal is the same or not.
I was hoping that there would be some offering on the new cabins since they are selling so poorly, but I guess it is too soon for that to happen.

I had contacted the DVC Guide that wrote up these contracts for me via text and had heard nothing back, so I just talked to the Quality Assurance Team to cancel these two contracts, and I did not realize that you had to email your request to a specific department. I hope they are able to refund the deposit fairly quickly.

Cheers.

I think this is the issue for me too. If you aren't always booking way in advance, you could be blocked out. What if you suddenly decide you want to take a trip at 6 months? SSR, OKW, and AKV will probably be available but you can't book those. This is a good point I hadn't thought about before. With my points I can book where I want at 11 months, but then also peruse all resorts w/in 7 months. This means I can usually find something when I want. With RR-only points you'd just be plain stuck under 6-7 months.

And they are often a resort I cannot find at seven months if I want to depending on the room type period Many other Resorts would be better off with this kind of restriction comma but not this one for that reason only period

Yeah, buying here resale comes along with the caveat that you will be booking this resort more toward the 11-month time period every year. It really only works for consistent early booking at RR. For those who can commit to booking consistently this far out (we do, for example), this can work.
Cheers.
