We just returned from a 5-night sailing on the Magic where we visited Castaway, Nassau, and Lighthouse Point, with a day at sea. It had been over 4 years since our last sailing on the Magic and soon after we were on board, it was easy to remember why we love it. We were on deck 6 and that was about the perfect location, you'd only have to go up 3 or down 3 to get to most places. The Fantasy is still my favorite, but I do enjoy the Magic. The only thing we realized it was lacking was the Sweet On You type shop.
Castaway was fantastic, as always. We did get off in Nassau to check out the renovated port and I think they did a great job. And let me just say, Lookout Cay was spectacular! The turquois water was so clear and the pink sand was so fine and soft, just beautiful. There were plenty of people complaining on the walk over to the tram, but people love to complain. The walk is no longer than if you walk from the ship to the second beach at Castaway. The difference you have a lot to distract you on your walk at CC and then you're at the beach. At LC, you have the walk, then a pleasant tram ride to the beach. It really was not a big deal to us. Like I said, it was beautiful, and the beach is so vast, you can walk along it for miles. We brought our own snorkel gear and I really enjoyed the reefs at LC, there were tons of different fish to see; DS preferred looking for 'sunken treasure' at CC. And happy to report the fly situation has been resolved at the food locations. We were able to eat at Tru Tru Too BBQ without issues.
We have no complaints about the service, which was outstanding as usual. The room was clean (despite some recent reports to the contrary), the food was great, and we liked sailing out of FLL. A much better experience than when we sailed out of Miami. Overall, a wonderful week!!
