Don't understand that. It would totally lessen the run to SDMT to have this open. What we'll see is ppl go there anyways and line up. A half-hour wait thru the pre-open will be worth it to be ahead of the regular crowd.

I suspect the people who currently go to Space Mtn followed by Buzz will now go to Space Mtn and then rush to Tron. In the hopes of beating the non early entry guests coming from the Hub. The only benefits to Disney I can see are having more time for operating test runs of Tron - I don’t know how long that takes in the morning & / or not having to staff the ride during early entry.

They'd never do anything to save costs which would impact guest satisfaction.

I guess we’ll see. RoR is not open for the 7:30AM early entry at DL (I don’t know at HS) because it takes so long to prep for opening. In fact, oftentimes, it’s not even open at park open at 8AM and can open as late at 8:30AM. If one does not want a long wait, I doubt you can go to SM first and then line up for Tron. I’m betting many early entry will go straight to lineup for Tron.

In the past they've opened earlier than the posted early open and it has been available...when it is up and running, but that's a different story
FoP is not actually open at AK for early hours, but they walk people into the line and then let folks in right at 8.
Cheers.

So even though it is the same ride, RotR is obviously different at HS vs DL. The DL version started building first and had some snafus that helped the HS version and allowed it to open much earlier than DL. Maybe these subtle technological changes makes it so the HS version does not need as much prep time?

The HS version does have its issues, and is down fairly often. But it is, at least theoretically, open for the early hours. We're about 50/50 at actually being able to get on then.
Cheers.

Glad to hear this. Now hopefully park reservations will be history by the time I get back to WDW. Maybe if I wait long enough it will be like it was in 2019

Maybe they are hoping people will say, "Well since I can't early-entry for Tron I might as well buy the genie thing for it"

Goodness gracious, so not even open during EE.....I have no idea how we're going to do this in a few weeks. I'll try and track some wait times, any trip reports. etc. Test Track was always the one for us that never opened on time, at opening, they were always doing extra testing or something, so maybe Tron is like that. Rise has had some issues for us at opening, but usually we got on quickly at rope drop. FoP is open during EE at AK. We've often made it on/off and over to the Safari line before Safari opened at regular time. might have to plan a late night, but will also be noting if they allow people into the line right up to the last minute, or cut it off earlier.

So how was it? Anybody riding Tron this week? Probly not bad given it's such a slow time of the year. And now you can now multiple times per day if you like!

Late to this thread (I have been traveling).....This is a step the right direction. It amazes me how much WDW is still not back to normal when compared to pre-covid. Between the mountain of debt, soaring costs, inept management and revenge travel (which has made WDW lazy) the parks and resorts are not the same. Look at Food & Wine Festival.....Its just booths, nothing that made the festival great is back....nothing!
Sigh....I can go on and on, but not today.

I go back and forth on the VQ being a covid thing or not honestly. Rise of the resistance was a VQ in 2019 when it opened. I don't necessarily think that VQs are covid remnants, but just an idea that the management thinks is needed to do crowd control. I do not think honestly that once a ride reaches a certain age, that it's required or needed or whatever. Now there are some remnants from covid that exists, *cough cough* park reservations *cough cough*, but I'm not sure this is one of them to be honest. F&WF is a joke now. F&GF is much more preferable to me since they offer better in my opinion comparatively since they gutted a lot of the extras from F&WF
