This was a last minute trip I booked for my retirement. I lucked into a 1 BD at the Boardwalk.
Saturday, September 7th.:
We had a 7:45am flight out of BWI, so we were up at 4am. Everything went so smoothly. Flight was on time and we hopped on the Mears Connect to take us to the BW. DH jokingly said our room should be ready when we got there.
Just for grins, I checked MDE and it was ready!! Two minutes later I got the text. Wow. That doesn’t happen at the BW. We arrived at the BW around 11:30, got settled in our room and headed to Epcot.
Got a drink at the pub (Rose & Crown) and then We got food at Hawaii for lunch. It was yummy! The pork slider is delish and the Spam Rice bowl is good too.
Headed to the Creations shop to check out the F&W merch. We collect the salt and pepper shakers that look like trash cans. I was able to get ours and ones for our daughters. They have 2 styles. We got both. And I got a mug and shirt.
We checked out the new Communicore Hall. Not very impressive. Especially since it took so long to build. There is a food booth inside and more merch.
We took a break back at the room, since we had a dinner reservation at Japan. We ate at Shiki-Sai. It’s where Tokyo Dining use to be. Food is very good. And we were out in time to watch Luminous. Ended the evening with a drink at the Belle Vue Lounge.
Sunday, September 8th.
I woke up in time to grab a boarding group for Tron. Got 40. We had a leisurely morning getting breakfast and got to MK around 10.
The mine train was 35 minutes when we were on the bus. By the time we got there it said 50. Actual time in line 25!
Rode HM (15 minutes wait), Pirates (15 minutes wait)
Time for Tron (35ish minutes wait) People Mover (walked on).
Done in the MK by 1:30ish. Amazing. Between September low crowds and tonight being a party night. MK was great.
On to Epcot for lunch. Yummy! We ate at Flavors of Fire and Australia. The shrimp at Australia is very spicy. Good but spicy. The sliders at Favors of Fire were really good.
And then got drink at the pub.😎
Back to the room for a break.
We had hoped to got to DHS or back to Epcot but the weather did not cooperate. It poured. Ended up with an Italian sub from the BW deli. Will not get that again. Dry and tasteless.
Monday, September 9th:
Original plan was Epcot, but we switched to AK.
Got there around 10, grabbed a photo and headed to Dinoland to get our magnets.
Decided to ride Dinosaur (15 minute wait) and Everest (20 minute wait). The only really long lines were Pandora.
Grabbed a cocktail and did some shopping.
We hopped on a bus to DHS with the plan to ride the skyliner to Epcot.
But, a storm came in and they closed the skyliner and boats.
So, we walked back to the BW just before the downpour started.
Headed to Epcot around 2:30. Grabbed drinks from the pub and headed to Greece. The gyros and spanakopita were yummy. And then the rain started again. Checked out the art work in America and watched the America Adventure.
Rain stopped temporarily. We walked around World Showcase and the rain started again.
Headed back to the BW. Tonight is Epcot extended hours . Hoping that works out.
