I went to book a studio for WDW for the first weekend in April. I was already about a week past the 7-month mark, so was expecting only OKW, SSR, and maybe AKV. To my surprise, there studios available at most of the other properties. I ended up booking Poly. I am now looking forward to my first Poly stay!!
Has 7-month availability gotten better?

Weird....DVC inventory at 7 months has been tight for awhile. At times, they seem abnormally tight.

We made our spring break vacation exactly at the 7-month mark a couple of weeks ago, also at Poly, March 30-April 4. We were able to get it no trouble.
What surprises me is looking at those same dates *today* - there remains a ton of availability, though not at Wilderness Lodge or the Crescent Lake resorts (for studios).
My theory is airline and ticket prices, but who knows.

We had no issues over spring break deciding if what I booked is what we wanted - we opted to change (just view) and lots were open. Looking at studios and 1 bedrooms though. No issues and we were a few weeks in the 7 month mark. We have seen better at 7 months when we book otherwise. Including a 2 bed lock off at Boardwalk during the renovations. Rentals are softer too per reports I'm seeing which could make bookings easier. |

A friend of mine, who is a teacher so doesn't really have time off, and I were talking about possibly doing a quick weekend trip over MLK weekend so I logged in to get on a waitlist. To my surprise, I was able to get Sat and Sun night at SSR! There was no availability any where else but SSR would be great. I am convinced someone cancelled while I was thinking about which resort to waitlist because it hadn't been there then I refreshed the page and it popped up.

We are owners at Boulder Ridge and have gotten 7-month reservations at Bay Lake Tower, Jambo House, Kidani Village, Old Key West, and Saratoga Springs. Although we have tried many times, we have never been able to get a 7-month reservation at The Beach Club Villas or The Boardwalk Villas. We would really love to stay at The Beach Club Villas at least one time. We have never tried The Grand Floridian or The Polynesian.

We have gotten studios as BWV (including next month during Food and Wine). I have definitely seen 1-bedrooms at both locations at 7 months. |

Next time, keep trying. I got extremely lucky last year and picked up a few BCV nights literally two weeks before our trip. Good luck!

I've done 7 months at every single WDW resort out there (outside the cabins but we'll move on). It is possible to do. I have been shut out of concierge and not always standard views, but our goal was to do all WDW resorts (before CFW) and we only own 3 resorts. CCV was purchased after our stay there. OKW has been inside 7 months so I don't know which points I used and same with PVB. So keep trying. BWV and BCV have been both studios, 1 bedrooms and 2 bedrooms (BWV means lock off too). |

We will certainly keep trying! Since we are a group of 6 or 7 we are always trying to get a 2 bedroom. Might settle for 2 one bedrooms, but not sure about that. We have never stayed in a Studio.

I had weirdly better luck at BWV than BCV with 2 bedrooms but at least BCV has dedicated ones. We haven't done studios at either in probably 16 years. We're mostly 1 and 2 bedrooms with the family now. |

Was able to flip an April Monday-Friday OKW studio for a Boardwalk studio- same week. Just have to check in once in a while.

I was able to switch my reservation from OKW to BWVs a few days ago. My son switched from SSR to BWVs also. Very surprised. He is in a 1BDR. I have a 2BDR. Studios were also available as well as 1BDR and 2BDR at all of the resorts for our dates. I thought it was a bit odd.

(Waitlist for Boulder Ridge has not come through and doubt it will for next month. We are happy at SSR though. Not complaining. Have not stayed at SSR in a long time.)
