The Mouseowner website has a very nice, even touching, farewell up. I would encourage many to visit it.
Words can not express my appreciation for Kim and her work with Mouseowners. The family, more than just friends, that my sweetie and I have grown to know and love is incredible. Ask me sometime, when we happen to meet on Main Street, or at LaCava DelTequila, and I'll be happy to expound on my blessings from it. I am also going to sharing with you some of the nuances that made Mouseowners what it was, even if you are a douchbag! Kay Sera Sera
Thank you Kim.

I’ll certainly agree on the gratitude for the development of many of my closest friendships, indeed many who have become family.
For that I shall be forever thankful.

Absolutely and why many of us wanted to make sure we could continue. I thank them for giving us space to meet and make new family and friends. Truly and deeply!

Thanks for posting this, Dan. I had stopped checking in as it was clear the site wasn't going to continue. I agree with your sentiments - so appreciative of the work of the MO admins. And also all of those who posted over the years. Some of the posts were informative, and some laugh out loud funny (as I read them in the office). So glad I joined the Chatty group where I made some wonderful friends and now travel buddies.

I’ll miss MO - I just hope we can honor it by continuing the community and having it grow and fill a similar space.
Thank you Kim!

That was a very sweet message. While I miss Mouseowners, I am thankful the DVC/Disney conversations will continue on this site. Thank you to all of the new administrators for creating this site!

Thank you Kim for all of your time and efforts in hosting and managing the MouseOwners website. I’ll never forget that gracious lunch we had at Downtown Disney in California along with Carolyn ( this is Hope here, BWV dreamin if you’re reading). Wishing you and Eric all the best. You created memories and affected many lives that will forever be appreciated and remembered.

Tears are happening. Gold standard indeed. I hope Kim and Eric understand that they created a unique and the very best DVC site ever. It is a testament to them that we all wanted it to continue even when they did not want to go on for many reasons. So glad that they came back to say goodbye. I will be forever grateful to them. Gonna go blow my nose now.

Thank you for letting us know about the goodbye. While I was mostly a lurker the information and candid banter made me smile everyday.

End of an era. Learned a ton from that board about Disney and life. Very happy to see so many familiar peeps here!

Some day, some one, will have to explain why Kim and Eric would not let someone takeover the name and site and update the architecture behind it. Maybe the tie to her grandmother but seems odd.
MO was not only my largest intro to DVC, it was my first. So much so I NEVER felt the need to even create a login to that "other" set of boards.

Thanks for sharing! That is a lovely way for MO to sign off. I'd reach out to Kim again to say thanks, but not sure what I could add to the gratitude expressed in the MO thread when the plan was announced there several months back. Hopefully she and the whole MO team know just how much that community meant/means to many of us.
Perhaps one day the MO team will reconsider allowing that website to be achieved so that it remains searchable via the wayback machine or some such alternative. There is such a rich history and valuable content for MO. It strikes me as a shame for that all to be lost.
Cheers to the team here for carrying on the next iteration!

My eyes are watering and I am not cutting onions. Truly the end of an era that I am so grateful to have been a part of. Thank you Kim and Eric for taking us all along for the ride. I’ve never met you or any MO in person but the community of it all has helped me get through some really difficult life events. And thank you to the other admins for helping keep it a fun place. You all, and the MO forums will be missed.
