Odd about Poly emails. I have 200 Direct points from when old one opened but have received absolutely nothing from my Guide. He very rarely communicates but I believe did send a short email about the Wilderness cabins. Odd not a thing about new Poly. (actually glad as most likely won't add on at my age). Plus, I already use my Poly/BCV points at BWV. Somehow travel daughter and myself have grown huge attachment to BWV. Just got back about 20 minutes ago. Funny thing is DH's favorite is BLT. I honestly should have actually 'stayed' at resorts before I purchased anything in 2014. Duh. (Though still actually love them all and grateful I have points.) I honestly think it can help to stay, but how one feels can vary somewhat over time. My love of BCV has dwindled, but SSR has grown on me a lot as an example. I almost bought at BCV and glad I don't feel so tied to it though I'd be happier with the MFs at least LOL. Resorts definitely change over time for me with what I like or don't. Well except Polynesian for me. It's in my blood but I totally am fine with others not staying there. This likely will be my final add on. I have enough points to be more than comfortable in our stays. Just a bit of info also to add, if you do add on direct, you do get 2024 points, but your fees for 2024 are pro-rated from *opening date* and not even day of purchase. So you pay a whopping 2 weeks of MFs but get all your 2024 points. Not a huge savings but nice all the same.

Okay, I emailed my guide to ask if we get construction points waiting.... So if we buy 100, will we get 100 now and at our use-year date?

Update: Our guide called shortly after I posted earlier. We have a Feb UY, will get full 2024 points with MFs prorated so will owe only 2 weeks of dues. Closing costs for 100 points is $555.58 including the $250 document fee.

I added less than you but was good with our closing fees cost.

Oh thank you for the information at the bottom of your reply re Poly. Very interesting.
Funny you said SSR because I had Zero interest in ever staying there. Ever. Then when we did a quick last second trip last year, it was all that was open. We accidentally got Congress Park and LOVED SSR. We took all the boats back to our beloved moderate resorts where we stayed many, many years ago and reminisced by walking all around. Forgot about how much we loved those boat rides back and forth to "Lake Buena Vista". Ahh.
Never in a million years would I have thought that we would have such a lovely stay at SSR. You live and learn I guess.

You live and learn I guess. I hated my first SSR visit. So much so I didn't even consider staying until after the last refurb. I stayed by myself and really enjoyed it. I was in The Springs and it was great. Last trip was at the Paddock near the carousel bus stop. That was lovely too. We'd definitely go back. Though the plans for longer trips will be PVB and CCV. We'll use my OKW points and any left over CCV or PVB points elsewhere. The great thing about DVC is that you can find your favorites and stay. Our original OKW points have been used at every resort.

I have received a couple of emails but seemed like form mail. Our original guide retired and we have not really been assigned anyone.

I must be one of the few ppl that likes my guide. He's cool... calls a couple times a year, and sometimes before I have a DVC stay coming up. I think it's a nice touch. I wouldn't call it pressure; just keeping a pulse on his clients.

I wouldn't call it pressure; just keeping a pulse on his clients. I think a number of folks here like their sales people. To me, they're just timeshare sales people and they're gonna try and sell timeshares.
With that, I will say that, while we don't have "our" sales person, we wanted to buy 25 BWV direct a couple of years back and got a suggestion from someone here about their sales person, and the interaction was very nice. He might have contacted us once since then, but never again.
When we started we used to have a sales person that left messages when we stayed. We returned none and I guess she got the message from us
Cheers.

She went way beyond what you would expect from a timeshare sales person. She never pressured us on selling a resort and always made time to talk and catchup, if we were in town.
She is retired now, since covid.

My current guide seems pretty nice. The one before that, was pretty awesome too. He never pressured me into anything and he knew I was only going to buy for Polynesian LOL. I have had some pretty bad ones in the past though. I had one guy who I was given after my initial guide had retired and he didn't know what he was doing honestly. He kept trying to make us Finance as well and I'm not about that. I just hand them my credit card and say put it on and reap the rewards. My original guide was horrible though. She is the one who hosed up my extension paperwork. There is literally no record of us signing a quitclaim but it looks like DVC is just going to let us end at 2042 even without one from what my current guide said. So I've had some good ones, and I've had some bad ones. The current Guy totally understood why I did some of my recent points purchased via resale. He says smart to do the best of all worlds. We'll see how he really is as time goes on. I've only had him a couple weeks now.

After a bit of phone tag we finally pulled the trigger on buying Poly 100 pts. We want to arrange our own financing at 4.99% vs the 11%+ thru Disney, trouble is that as of Oct 1 Disney no longer accepts wire transfers, certified checks, personal or cashier. Credit card or debit only. Guide says she can set up payments spread over 60 days. Has anyone else experienced this??
I am calling Chase Disney Rewards this morning to try to figure out how to do it. I believe we still get 6 months interest free on DVC and get the rewards on the entire purchase but she keeps talking about setting up payments with Disney. I am confused at this point.

Someone will give their input if they have done the 6 months free option. Put your total purchase price on the and you have 6 months of no interest to pay it all off? What we did with our four contracts was put the total on the card for the rewards. Don't remember exact numbers. But if the total was $30,000. I had DVC put charge my card $10,000. As soon as it posted (not pending) within two days, I made the payment to the card. Called my guide and charge an additional $10,000 and again, as soon as it posted, I made the payment and so on. We had the full charge within days. We paid the card in full each time it posted with cash (or whatever other means one wants). Even though I carry no balance, I think the amount might have put us close to our limit. I don't remember, it was 24 years ago. I don't know if you can spread the "$30,000" over a few months of billing instead of days - stretching the no interest payment - You would have 6 months of no interest for each of the amount you charge each month. I don't know if that would solve anything. Without making it confusing............let us know what Chase tells you....but again, someone here might have used this option and will chime in.

Use the Disney Visa for the purchase, you get 6 months with no interest. You can choose to pay off the balance over the 6 months or get a load and transfer the balance.
Congrats on your purchase!!
