Meh, I’ll likely try it and see if I actually make use of it. Or forget to add it and see if I get annoyed. Either way,,,

I don't see this being for regulars. This seems more like a deal to drum up some light business from occasional goers. Think about it like this...
Don't have a trip planned for 2025? Here... * We'll give you 5 days cheap (but you can't maximize with hopper, etc). * We'll give you Memory Maker for your trip. * Here's a few OTU points in case you need it to book your stay.
It's just to draw in the "maybe" guest who doesn't have something planned right now, and might think they can swing a small vacation with this promo.
If I was in a down year (the year in between our AP years) I'd probably take advantage.

Don't have a trip planned for 2025? Here... I like your thinking. People who are planning "the big trip" (which they can't afford - wait did I say that) won't get anything from this offer People that go all the time don't really need this. Unrelated: I have zero use for the photo thing. No interest at all. Two or three times during a trip, my phone will be like "here's a picture of you on Pirates or Space!" and I really don't care, other than to laugh at how calm and relaxed I am on Space with a nice smile, it looks like I am at home on the couch listening to a record. But that is just us; it appears fairly popular here on this board.

I wasn't thinking this scenario but those who don't go more than a few days a year, or get OTUP or maybe even only once every year or two. That might work for them. I notice the general public on some DVC sites are a lot different types of travelers than the ones here on average.

I notice the general public on some DVC sites are a lot different types of travelers than the ones here on average. So they are DVC, we are DVC, how did we end up so different? We have a lot of older owners here. I'm not talking age either, but the length of ownership. Contract minimums for a number of more recent years was 50 pts or less. Then it slowly increased but I see a lot of owners who do plan only every 2 or 3 years. Those who will never stay outside of a studio and those who will not buy an AP. Disney by lowering buy in amounts, created a different type of member. Here, so many of us have owned for ages and do it differently. Disney did increase minimums more recently. Not just minimum for perks, but complete minimum to buy in. This is actually an issue at PVB. So many owners bought in with small numbers there. They not only cannot "afford" to go every year, they cannot even get a room at PVB with the small number of points they have since PVB is so darn costly per night in terms of points.

I know a lot of ppl who own DVC and none of them are like the folks that talk regularly here. Some of us think about DVC, our points, or what we have going on or will do next, literally every day -- if not multiple times a day. Most do not. Kind of like travel hacking in general. It's a fun thing to me to get some points back on Southwest or see a 3X hit on a credit card purchase. I know most do not give the slightest thought to say, choosing which credit card to use based on the perk that can be gotten from it. Most folks wouldn't go to any effort to micro-manage their LLMP, dining reservations, etc. I'd call it a hobby of mine, and boards like this provide an outlet to share it with others who have similar interests.

It's like TS in general. We also own HGVC and just got back from a stay in NYC. This location has an owners' lounge and we see the same people repeatedly. We talk, of course, and the purchase and use models are so different. Unlike DVC, there is no good reason to buy HGVC from the developer, but most have. I try to provide a different viewpoint when I can. Some are receptive to the game, some not so much.
Travel hacking is an art including air travel, hotels (including TS), credit cards and more for some folks. Definitely a hobby for me, and one that has involved the creation of a number of quite complex tracking spreadsheets.
And discussions here, TUG and Flyertalk among the like-minded are wonderful!
When we were just in NYC Comic Con was going on and we got to see some folks reveling in their geekdom. This is mine.
Cheers.

This. We've said it many times. These forums do not represent the "typical" DVC member. One of my DVC friends uses her points almost exclusively on the concierge collection for DL hotel and GC hotel. She has had many points expire over the years. I've told her multiple times that she would be better off renting her points and paying cash for the hotel rooms or selling her membership. She owns at AKV and has been to WDW a grand total of 3 times - twice with us.

It's been almost a bit of a shock to listen to how others do things elsewhere - where I see more varied knowledge and ideas on how to use.

For me, Im a DVC Lifestyler. My retirement planning, family planning, financial planning, etc. all intersects with how I will use my DVC. In the interim, I use my points extravagantly or rent. So the perks appeal to me on a 1 off basis. Sometimes I visit and just sit by the pool, other times, I have family that joins and wants all the magic, and if I have to play tour guide, I could use these paid perks for those occasions. I have a 10 day hopper Noexp with 9 days left, but if I need to be in the park 4-5 days, I will look at points pass or purchase 5 day pass instead of using my hopper days. My guests don’t purchase hopping, its too expensive and complicated, so no sense in wasting my hop days for a few hours in MK or Epcot when this offers other options. Reminds me of TIW, where we paid for dining discounts. MMB offers way more perks than TIW for the same $99. Also the waiving of the $95 Concierge collection fee returns as a benefit of MMB and as a VGC owner, Disneyland ticket option is a plus too. They used to let you convert your multi day WDW ticket to DL ticket but without that option, I didn’t go into the park last year when I stayed at VDH. I think its fair and will purchase on 12/3. DVC membership is growing exponentially and if $99 keeps me in the lounge, I’ll take it. Also, just this week I exchanged II for a week at SSR 1 bedroom for Spring Break 2025 and have friends coming so I will use the 1 TUPs to book a SSR studio that same week, and possibly a point pass or 5 day and they can have the MM if they take alot of pics in the parks. If the value is remotely fair, I will use it as opposed to renting the same amount of points out.

Yes agree with this Fuzzylogic!!! I do all the planning for fun for me though yes can be annoying at times...if we did not own all of our points would be go as much? NO! But we are glad we do... to go to parks, go relax, sit at pool, people watch, sit on the BW and enjoy the views and other places. ETC....
