I think it's just clickbait. The post claims Disney prices didn't go up a lot until Michael Eisner took over.
* 71 ($3.50) to 84 ($17) Walt & friends raised prices about 5x in 13 years. * 84 ($17) to 2005 ($60) Michael raised prices about 3.5x in 21 years while expanding the value from 1 to 4 parks. * 2005 ($60) to 2024 ($120/variable) Bob & others raised prices by about 2x - 2.5x in 19 years.
So a quick look at allears' data says it's a false dig, surprise. Walt raised prices more than anyone, and current management has increased them least of all..

I think people often view Walt Disney as a saint. That they were more concerned about people than profits during his time.
Disney was not alive for WDW so looking at those prices is pointless to this anyway. It seems there is truth to the parking claim at DLR but I'm not sure what the drive was. There are no verifiable quotes I can find stating one way or another.
Do I feel AP prices have gotten out of hand the last number of years? Yes. But do I think Walt wasn't into profit? No.

I liked the last line - he owed around $10 million. It reminds me of when my BIL was complaining that our tax refund was higher than his and I said to DH, "He's not carrying enough debt."

I think it is clear that Walt cared very much about profits and was not some altruistic saint.

I first went in 86, I wasn't keeping track of prices as a kid but I'm sure it was like $22. But new cars were like what, 10k? People gripe when prices go up. They are at numbers that make me pause. But what do people expect, everything gets more and more expensive all the time, is Disney supposed to eat that cost? Just imagine how much it costs to run those rides, pay that electric bill, pay those employees (more and more), buy that food.
That said, I totally agree that APs are getting outrageous. It's hard to pony up that cash. As I am wont to say often, "I can buy a whole *^&$*! car for that, a working, driving car."
