I just don’t understand why people would consider buying Beach Club or Boardwalk with only 20 years remaining. And strangely both seem to be higher in cost than other resorts that have longer terms remaining. Location, location, location |

And strangely both seem to be higher in cost than other resorts that have longer terms remaining. location and point chart. Walk to two parks, and much better point chart than RIV. 20 years is still a long time, unless you have young kids - even then, in 20 years the kids might not want anything to do with disney. Having said that, I would probably think long and hard before buying BCV resale or direct today at the current prices. In 10 years time, I would probably buy one of the MK resorts and wait for BC or BW to be resold in 2042 |

We have stayed somewhere else just once.Even with only 20 years remaining these locations have more value to us than any other on property.
With this said, we are thinking that it might be fun to try VGF some time.because we'll be retired, we can likely find something that works at 7 months.

Just stayed there for the first time and it was wonderful since I spent the day with my friends at Epcot. Running the numbers with the price of rooms currently, probably still make it a good buy with resale at low prices. |

BC and BW also have a decent point chart. So a small contract can go far there.

Apologies for the thread drfit, but could some please remind me as I contemplate jumping back into the market: What happens if I buy resale contract while also already owning a grandfathered contract? Will all of the restrictions of the new resale contract follow along even if you want to combine them for a ressie that was partly made with the grandfathered points?
My assumption is that there's no loophole to get around a resale's restrictions.....

Those purchased before are grandfathered in and can be used at any DVC resort. Resale points purchased after that 2017 can not be used at Riviera ( and any subsequent restricted DVC going forward). Resale Riviera points can only be used at Riviera and not at any other DVC resort. HTH. |

If we did ever buy resale (to complement our grandfathered resale), this would not matter much to us.Staying within O13 would be sufficient for us, and we get all other blue card benefits, I believe, due to the grandfathered points.

The resale usage restrictions went into effect 1/19/2019 and it's actually 14 resorts: AKV, AUL, BCV, BLT, BRV, BWV, CCV, HHI, OKW, PVB, SSR, VB, VGC & VGF. |
