Every refurb Disney/DVC toss items that others treasure. I hope you're able to source some of the pictures. The sleeper chair I always thought was uncomfortable to sit and the pull-out sofa was a back wrecker so, to may way of thinking, replacing these with murphy bed options are good refurbishments. An inexpensive inflatable bed could be purchased from Target or Walmart. Back in the 90's this is how we use to accommodate 5 at CBR. I realized we were against fire code but I was willing to take the risk. We always took it back home though I've read threads where people toss them. Comparing costs, an inflatable bed is less than spending more points on a larger villa. The one we use to use we would deflate in the morning and push it under the bed with the fitted sheet still on it so it could be easily re-inflated. I hope this suggestions doesn't get me 'dinged' like it did on DisBoards. If so, sorry, but it's a real solution and the villa already accommodates 5 so no fire code violation. While I personally poo poo cramming people into rooms that they don't belong in, CBR actually had room and ability to add a 5th to some of the preferred rooms. A few of the mods did that with trundle beds. But no matter what, not my styls to "ding posters" here for that. I dislike it because excessive wear and tear on rooms when it's constantly over full. I was from a family of 5 and we got cots all the time. If a room could sleep 5 we would. Having just 2 beds doesn't always mean that's is actual limit. Just what's there. I do agree that an inflatable bed is a wise idea for something like this. I know people who do with families who loath sharing beds. Like you though, those sleeper chairs were not my favorite at all. Even folded they weren't comfortable. Our last one wouldn't easily stay folded right either (we never unfolded to see why though)

DS was always happy on a sleeper chair, even when given the choice of that or the sofa bed. I just feel at 25 he’s too old to expect him to sleep on the floor on an airbed. He would if it was that or share with his older brother.
I’d thought there might still be a couple of family holidays left, but maybe it’s time to rethink. Eldest might take on the contract, since he and friends have started visiting annually in recent years.

If they follow what they've done at BCV and BWV it will be another winner. Substantial improvement on our places.
Cheers.

The murphy beds are massive improvements over the sleeper sofas and IMO the single murphy beds are superior to the sleeper chairs. Makes me sad to think OKW will get neither most likely. nickys I personally wouldn't discount the murphy until you try. They are really very close in dimensions to the sleeper chair. Only a couple inches shorter. But that's just me. Or let the kids decide on their own what they want to do with sleeping arrangements.

Oh wow, I didn't realize BLT was up for refurb. It has always surprised our family but my mother absolutely LOVES the decor in the rooms at BLT! I wonder if any of the stuff will make it to the Flea Markets around Orlando. My kiddos were watching one of the You Tubers and he went to some of the Flea Markets and some of the old room decor made to those places eventually...

So CCV is to get refurbed in 2025, and rumor has it Murphy beds will go into the studios. My big concern with this is if this happens will they remove the table and chairs? I am hoping they stay. We are table and chair people.

We are table and chair people. CCV cannot add a sleeper that removes the chairs the way BRV did. It's just a wee bit smaller making it no go for the murphy. The murphy that they are saying will go in, will be the one in place of the fold out couch.

I did like what we had at SSR with the rising table. But it was mostly a solo trip so eating casual was good. The table and chairs at PVB longhouses isnt honestly great to me. Probably why I like 1 bedrooms and bigger. They have to have real eating surfaces lol

That is super unfortunate about the art.
But I disagree: replacing the pull out chair with a Murphy style bed is an upgrade in every direction. I do agree that the single pull down would be short for a 6 foot person, but isn’t the chair more uncomfortable all around? And still short?
When my youngest no longer wants to sleep on that single pull down, we’ll have to switch to a 2 bedroom also. I’ve got a few more years fortunately.

The one we unfolded at Bay Lake folded out onto the floor, like an IKEA sleeper chair. I might be remembering it wrong.

I’ve not seen any reports of a 6ft adult even trying to sleep on that. The sleeper chair was more comfy than the sofa bed according to my youngest, he chose the chai when given a choice. An adult on an air bed for more than a couple of nights isn’t much fun.
