We are considering extending our June (6/4 to 6/11) WDW stay by a few extra days to visit the beach. There is no availability at Vero Beach for immediately after our trip. We cannot go before due to the Grandkids school schedule.
Looking for ideas from the group. Something somewhat close to Orlando. What would you recommend. Clearwater?

Also, is there a particular resort you would recommend?

Their hotel is a mom and pop place they like. Nothing fancy. I can find out if that might interest you.

Clearwater Beach itself is VERY crowded, but if you like the touristy stuff it would work. Sand Key is close to Clearwater Beach, but much less crowded.
