 Welcome back Karl. Your granddaughters are lovely. Wednesday here, so I guess it's Wednesday where all of you are. With daylight savings time, it takes me about a week to be certain. Packing the car today (finishing packing, having already nearly filled it with many items from storage) to drive to Dallas Thursday and Friday. We are making a concerted effort to go ahead and offload or toss things that would otherwise still be in storage when we die, at a clip of $275 a month. We had untold numbers of kindergarten and elementary art pieces that went from the fridge to a bin. Heck, we had the doctor's comment slips from well-baby visits! I think Sandra would have taken them all to the respective households, but I asked her to make a reasonable size folder for each boy, with the "best stuff." Then she wanted me to choose. Umm...no. (Is there any "best stuff" when it comes to kindergarten art? Hope everybody has a great week. You're almost halfway, Brian. |

My plan when I finally retire is to take pictures of the kids artwork, etc and make them a Shutterfly book. That way they just have a book on a shelf rather than a box in the basement. Lets see if I actually do it....

I wanted DH to change out our shower door but that's not been happening so I am buying a tension rod and a heavy duty, weighted shower curtain and unscrewing that shower door myself.  Sometimes the tiger's tail needs to be pulled. LOL |

LOL When we got married, we did that thing at Target where you register for stuff and then walk around the store with the scanner gun, beeping stuff you would want. I don't remember, it was all normal stuff, you know - a couple saucepans or whatever. We were both already almost 30 so we had most things already. Well I found a kid's octopus soap dispenser, he's so cute I had to scan him. They also had a matching trash can, so I scanned that, and a shower curtain that had him on there and some other sea creatures, so I had to scan that. All my wife's friends knew that I was the one who picked out the cute octopus stuff, and they got the whole set. Of course it was all in the $5-10 range so people love that stuff. Now that I think about it, they probably thought we were going to have kids. Well jokes on them, I just wanted the cute octopus guy. Still have them. Wife says Octo won't make it when we redo the upstairs bathroom - I don't know what I'm going to do!  |

I like the Octopus motif. I’ve tried to tone down my Disney decorations here in FL. I just bought the Jasmine shower curtain off Shop Disney because all the others were too “in your face”.
I lived in Michigan for many years and never knew about Oberon day. I’ll have to ask my parents if they knew about it. We lived on the east side of the state and then Bill grew up in the Soo and we both went to school in Houghton, MI at Michigan Tech. Winter Carnival was huge with HUGE amounts of snow. We hate snow/winter. We both hate snowmobiling too.
