Has anyone had any experience with limiting lectins? I am going to try replacing pantry items with less intensive lectin food stuffs. Supposedly it's to let the sedentary (me!) lose weight better than just limiting myself to rabbit food and lean meats.

So if you do, consult a doctor or dietician.

DH has found some low calorie breads and wraps which help cut calories.

Finding the low calorie is actually the key for losing weight. I'm not a fan of any fad diets though. I also suggest always talking with a doctor or dietitian if one thinks they have issues with the specific food type or even for healthy ways to lose weight. I'm all about balance. Doesn't help me though when I'm all stressed or unhappy and eat too much no matter what, "good or bad" which has always been my issue with weight though I still have managed ro keep my small person weight loss gone. Bread for me is one of my safe foods though. It's crazy how many people put my stupid allergen in a lot of foods. I have extremely stable blood sugar though, so low carb is pointless for me. Which is probably good because when I go out gluten products are usually safe. Still won't forget those darn waffles

So if you do, consult a doctor or dietician. I am hoping to find grain replacements as I eat way too much bread and have NO self control. The protein and dairy suggestions I thought were good - although expensive and kinda hard to find - because DH is a big meat person and I'm a big dairy person. What surprised me the most is the eliminating seeds and skin on veggies and fruit.

I’ve tried (sweetie has made) a couple that use a cake mix as its base and there is no comparison to these. The mix ones are very good, and likely easier though.

Sweetie did substitute pecans for walnuts. I find walnuts are very bland in flavor as opposed to pecans.

Low carb has value far beyond blood sugar, although that is one factor. Low carb and weight loss are strongly linked well beyond the blood sugar aspect. As fro gluten, that is not related to carbs as it is a protein. There are certainly high-gluten low-carb foods.
Cheers.

I was being quick in a response to a different post and didn't feel like going into nitty-gritty of my allergy. All said and done, we'll have to agree to disagree on the value of a low-carb diet for the average human. As someone who has lost the equivalent of a small person, through help with medical people, I will just say that there is no value for me to do that type of diet. No medical reasons either. So I will keep eating my carb so I can safely eat and avoid certain allergens when I'm out and about. And again, I suggest to anyone wanting to do real weight loss to actually speak to medical professionals about it. Handing out much more than that can lead to bad advice not knowing the medical history of the person. I do speak out against fad diets though because they often create bad responses in people no matter what. But if a diet is suggested by medical professional, I would suggest the person follow.
