I cannot find an EV that actually uses a CVT. I didn't search too long, but outside of Bosch that seems to be trying to make it a thing, I can't see any straight EV that has it. There are plenty of hybrids though.
I think I've only done wipers, break fluid flush and maybe a cabin filter on my SE. I remember seeing a discussion on lubrication for a motor, but I want to say it was not meant to be replaced. That it is completely sealed. But I can't seem to find that right now. I also can't seem to find my service schedule for my car. I'm not scheduled until 2025 though for anything. Probably break fluid flush again.
My boss just happily got rid of his Tesla and replaced it with a BMW iX. He loves it so far! He was two and a half months into waiting on a part for his roof due to a tree branch falling on it. He got tired of waiting and tired of the service

You also will have a huge bill if you keep them too long so you have to change the batteries. As an old-car buyer, this is what is always in my mind. As someone who expects my cars to last longer than 10-12 years, the battery life is a problem. I also think that "batteries" in general is a real problem, as in - everybody thinks going to electric is the solution to a problem. But if suddenly EVERYBODY went EV...well, the stuff to make those batteries isn't exactly easy to come by and that can become a real honest-to-goodness problem when suddenly you want that stuff for every single car being made on the planet.

We were actually waiting for the updated S to come out when we sold the 3 but it was just taking too long t, I would have preferred the X but I just can't justify 120K that those cost at the time. We also maxed our the number of Solar panels we could put on our house so most of the fuel was from the Sun. The biggest issue with the 3 was I would forget to warn my wife when I punched off the line and it would bounce her head against the headrest resulting in me getting the stink eye for the next several miles.

I do love smooth instant torque. My kid drives mine in slow mode (Green) because he can't handle acceleration like that (and it's not that amazing, just definitely good enough for me). No idea of the costs now for the BMW suv, but my boss loves it. I don't even know which Tesla he had. Eventually our next car will be another EV. I'm kinda against hybrids for us so gas or electric for us. We're on a decent power source as well that doesn't use coal so I'm happy.

The smooth acceleration of my EV is what I like as well. While the Kona does not have the balls of the Tesla, it's enough for me. Not for excessively fast driving (I don't do that anymore), but for a burst of quick acceleration to get out of situations.
Cheers.

Even the Leaf that I test drove had enough umph behind it with the way the acceleration was for me to enjoy it on the high way. I almost bought that car, but glad I stuck with my brand. I'm all about handling so the Leaf was a bit floaty for me. It will be a slower move to EV in our house but we'll get there. Unless we get in an accident our one Civic is only 5 years old so likely going to be around a while (the other is 17)

Hooray for winter weather (extreme sarcasm). We're supposed to fly PHL to MCO at 1:55 today. The weather looks potentially bad.
BW Inn. Water view. Hopefully we get there, even if it's tomorrow morning.

Hopefully we get there, even if it's tomorrow morning. At least we're not getting dumped with snow this far east. Friends in IL are stuck inside today. I think based on even timing of wind here you should be fine. As long as you weren't scheduled on a Max 9

I'm watching the incoming flight, ORD to PHL. If it departs on time that is hopefully good for us.

Our next flight is 1/19...Max 9. I am quite sure that that will be the safest Max 9 flight ever
Just like I told my mom when flying shortly after 9/11 - this will be the safest time to fly in a long time.
Of course, we've booked two aisles and no windows...
Cheers.

I'm totally fascinated by the situation. Glad no one was hurt. But sounds like communication was not great with the tower. Is it an emergency? Uh heck yes!

Southern Minnesota, winter finally came. Yesterday, January 8th, and I'm looking at the yard wondering if I should pick up those leaves or not. I did not. Now they are buried. But only a couple inches of snow.
Took advantage of the no-snow-on-the-ground and not terribly cold last few days and replaced tie-rod ends and stuff on a Ford Fusion that suddenly became our daily driver recently, when the Volvo didn't want the job anymore. Then yesterday I replaced the TPMS sensors in the tires. Now, no lights on the dash for the first time in a long time! And I have an appointment for new tires in half an hour.
Being the decades-long "500-dollar car guy" I had no knowledge of the little light on the dash that indicates a flat tire. I'm sure most of you have seen it because I probably am the only person to not have had relatively new car. Turns out the US government mandated systems starting in 2007 to let us know if we had low tires. Seems we can't be bothered to check our tire pressures anymore, like we were all taught back in the day, so now we need an idiot light to come on in the dash so we don't waste fuel, burn up tires early, and cause our unnecessarily-large SUVs to flip over when the tires blow.
Turns out they are little transmitter inside the tire, that broadcasts a signal every 30 seconds or whatever to the car, indicating the tire pressure. Each tire has one, and they have a little watch battery powering it. They only last ~10 years and then they stop transmitting, forcing you to pay the tire shop $300 to replace them for you when you get new tires.
Luckily a few hours of research, $50 on Amazon and a couple hours of manual labor later and voila, all fixed.
Yay
