I have a thing for cars, so I looked up a ton before I purchased mine . Seriously it's been my most favorite car I've ever had. Interesting thing I noticed with the heat pump is that it seems to heat my car much faster than the good old resistive heating. When it is this cold here though, it's not very helpful and I do have to rely on the resistive heating, but overall like when it's 40 or 50° out it's perfect to have in a really great way to save some energy. I am not surprised that other EVs will have the heat pump as well. It actually makes me smile to hear the heat pump going when I start to heat up my car in a cold day. Reminder that I don't have to get into a cold car anymore LOL OK, so I have more to learn here. And I could look it up, but you seem to know the details. I just have a button for Heat, but not a way to select pump/resistive. Maybe this is a setting in the control panel? For me, it's just on/off and a temp setting. I actually do like working on cars as well, ON my Saturn I've replaced Intake and Exhaust solenoid values to clear engine codes and the last time I did my own spark plugs and even got a torque wrench since I didn't have one. But I did not research the details for this EV to that level. Fun to learn. Cheers. There is no way for me to select it on mine (but I haven't looked to see what I can code). I is very similar to my brother's house (in a warmer climate than the midwest) when the thermostat reaches a certain point and the heat pump is running but temp isn't rising, it moves over to the back up heat. Our cars have temps we ask it to be, and if the pump doesn't cut it, it moves over. If I turn my car on to heat up in the winter, I hear the heat pump going, so it tries to use it as much as possible at least. I did a ton of research before buying in general. I didn't have quite as many choices then as we do now. I probably wouldn't have chosen differently though. I didn't even test drive a Mini SE before buying, but I knew Mini well and I knew the BMW i3 was great too. So I had faith and bough without a test drive. I tested many others though. I just dropped mine off for a minor elective recall on a battery cover. I'm driving an ICE Countryman. Heated steering wheel but the heat took forever to kick in.

Well, Sunday morning. At least I think it's Sunday?
Got a laundry list of things to do longer than my arm, but of course I have zero interest in any of it.

$3000 for a 2.5 hour delay...and it wasn't even Vegas.
We flew to Seattle this week on Alaska. Of course, with teh 737-9 Max issues they had some cancellations, but not our flights. But SJC-ea/return were impacted by losing other flights on the route, so very full flights.
On the return they said that our 3:45 SEA-SJC was oversold by 22! Looking for volunteers at $550 each to take the 6:55. We got on the list. They needed more and it went to $950, and the $1500. And everyone gets the last offer. So, we got new BPs and vouchers for the $1500 each.
After checking on board, it turns out that 11 of those folks could get back on the original flight. But they still got $500 just for volunteering.
We went back to the lovely lounge for a few more hours. The original flight was 30 minutes late, so we were only behind by 2.5 hours. And deposited the $3000 in Alaska Wallet.
Doesn't suck.
Cheers.

Love it when that happens! We had a similar trip a few years back on Delta. We took a bump on 2 legs, one going and then another on the way home. Going home we rented a car in Detroit and drove home to Kalamazoo. We actually got home before our flight did….. it was delayed and sat on the tarmac for an over an hour.

Being retired makes it possible, but we decided to just count our winnings and get home.
Cheers.

So I did some googling and this is not new, seems they did it last year. I was watching a youtube guy who was at the Epcot art festival, and the nighttime show that Spaceship Earth puts on, with the music and the blinking lights, it had slightly over three minutes of audio from the old Figment ride! Like straight audio from the ride, or it seemed like it. Dreamfinder was talking, they did the Paintbrush scene, then Figment was singing for the Acting scene, then it wrapped up with the finale song from the ride. Waaa-hoo!!

The nighttime shows now in the new area are very nice. The coordination with all the lights even over in Creations (pretty sure they are included) and Connections is fun to see. I didn’t have a great view for Creations during the Christmas version. We should have walked over there last night but we had clocked too many miles already so we didn’t. We should have paced ourselves!! Videos of Illuminous help seeing different aspects of that show. I think videos of the Spaceship Earth shows and surrounding lights don’t do it justice. It’s hard to capture it all in a video.

When we took the kids in '92 & '94 we tried to find Figment. My co-workers said the kids would like it. We just couldn't find the entrance. Who knew we had to walk around the building. Instead we went into some 3D Jackson thing the kids never wanted to see again. When our eldest moved to Florida her friends took her and she told us where it was so we finally got to see it in '09. I don't think our younger two ever have seen it. Occasionally our youngest (who is shortly going to be 36y) says, "Who's the dragon?" LOL
