Captain EO was a real part of my childhood, and still is!

When we took the kids in '92 & '94 we tried to find Figment. My co-workers said the kids would like it. We just couldn't find the entrance. Who knew we had to walk around the building. Instead we went into some 3D Jackson thing the kids never wanted to see again. When our eldest moved to Florida her friends took her and she told us where it was so we finally got to see it in '09. I don't think our younger two ever have seen it. Occasionally our youngest (who is shortly going to be 36y) says, "Who's the dragon?" LOL Loved the original Figment and sorry that mrs. brp never got to see it. So much better a ride. Also really enjoyed Caption EO. They had it back briefly a few years back and it was very much fun to see again.
Cheers.

Loved the original Figment and sorry that mrs. brp never got to see it. My wife has never seen it, either, and I'm always sorry about that. But I managed to find a somewhat-okay version on youtube (hard because people didn't film stuff back then like they do now) and showed it to her, and she said that even though watching it on video was like 5% as good as being there, she could see why I always comment on the original ride. First time we went together was in 2010 and they had just brought back EO, so I was very happy she got to see it. (They also brought back Electric Light Parade for a bit, too, so she got lucky there also) Now every once in a while I kinda miss "Honey I Shrunk the Audience". I admit that the Kodak film "Magic Journeys" they showed there originally was before my time, but I have watched it on the computer. Definitely wouldn't command long lines these days.

For your viewing pleasure: Epcot in June 1982 from the monorail from my own personal collection of Disney pics. Back then, they would take you on the monorail to give you an overview of Epcot in hopes that you would want to come back. In our case, it absolutely worked because we were back the next year. I have personally seen every version that they have had for Journey, and I really do sometimes miss that original! At least the second version is gone! Note the glass is not there for Journey and SSE is not complete.

Friday night fun story:
Under a car, replacing what we used to call "the down pipe" aka the semi-flexible pipe that connects your exhaust manifold to (generally) your cat converter, it often these days has a "bendy straw" portion in the middle. What should have been four fairly difficult to remove bolts quickly became harder and harder. Laying on the creeper, cutting a bolt with the grinder...it decided to pop off at the last moment and go flying. Suddenly I've got a hot hot hot 1/2"-long chunk of 3/8" bolt that found it's way down my shirt collar and nestled kind-of in my armpit and sat there like a branding iron while I struggled to extricate myself from under the car. Good times. Ouchie.

Catalytic converter heist. File under "creative ways to make money for WDW trip." I did remove the cat and bring it into the house, just to show wife what one looked like. Put it back, though. I thought I looked one time when this whole cat-stealing thing became a thing, I thought they were only getting like $80 a piece for the things? That seems high. Then of course if you are the crackheads doing it, you are giving them to a guy and probably getting like ten bucks a pop if you are lucky. Not financing any Disney trips with that money!

Maybe read? It’s safer. Hope all is ok. Now where's the fun in that? hee hee. Some skin peeled off and it hurts but the welts mostly went away and I think there won't be any permanent scarring. Exhaust is nice and quiet, and no more fumes in the car! And I figure I saved at least $500 or more by not bringing it in. If cars weren't ridiculously priced, I could use that $500 savings and buy a whole 'nother car!

Hell no to any personal automobile or outdoor maintenance. Ouch says the wallet, but still preferable to a hospital visit…
Sorry about your Ravens, Tom.

Ouch says the wallet, but still preferable to a hospital visit… Been messing with cars for at least 30 years and nothing near a hospital needed yet! Okay there was a moment putting on a tire when I wasn't sure. But then it became okay and I learned not to do THAT again. Woo!

While my wife is a complete Figment nut it was so much better when they included the Dream Finder, The meet and great with the Dream Finder as a puppeteer was truly fantastic. Ouch says the wallet, but still preferable to a hospital visit… Been messing with cars for at least 30 years and nothing near a hospital needed yet! Okay there was a moment putting on a tire when I wasn't sure. But then it became okay and I learned not to do THAT again. Woo! At least they were probably on a flange so you didn't have to use a easy-out to get the rest of the bolt out and of course you could have turned it into a Florida man type story if you had not used jack stands and left the car on the jack... Cars were fun to work on until they got to the point where you just plug them into a computer and they tell you what part to change. Between cars getting more reliable and me getting older I seldom to never need to work on my car, maybe throw on some new brake pads but that is about it.
