I have a WL for BC in Fall and I just booked a March BC vacation so if the WL comes thru without enough points will DVC borrow?

I remember someone asking relatively recently (not necessarily on this forum) if there was a check-box to allow borrowing to fulfill a WL and the answer was no. Are both the waitlisted and BC reservations in the same use year? If so, I think your way round it is: - book something else that is at least 31 days ahead and ideally uses the exact number of points you will need to borrow to fulfill that waitlist or a few more if necessary. - then cancel that rservation - then modify your new BC reservation, don’t change anything but go right through the process and confirm. Nothing will change except that it will have picked up the borrowed points. - that leaves current points to be used for the WL if it comes through. And if it doesn’t you can bank those if you can’t use them.

If you change it now, you’ll go to the bottom of the list.

I know I once had to cancel a waitlist and re-book it in order to borrow points. I couldn’t see a way to modify it to borrow, but I might have missed it. Either way you’ll be at the bottom of the waitlist. The convoluted way I outlined means you can leave your waitlist as is.

Thanks for the details. Hopefully I checked the borrowbox - I'm pretty sure I'd've had to check it because I didn't have enough points in the correct UY. The March vacation is in the following UY. LOL

I’m trying to do online check in for an upcoming split stay at BLT and then SSR. We have added a guest that is not, but is now, on the Friends and Family list. It will not allow me to complete online check in. The only thing I see that may be holding it up is they need the new guest’s PIN. There are no instructions on how to accomplish it, does one add their PIN in their own account or profile? Is this something new and is there a way to get around it?
Coming back to report our guest was able to set her own PIN in her account and I was able to complete online check in.

We've had issues adding/deleting friends/family in the past, and I called WDW for assistance.

Another question.
As AP holders we still have to make park reservations?
Still have to tap in to the first park to enter a second park after 2?

The guest that we finally added to our BLT reservation will not be staying with us after all but will be staying at VGF for 1 night instead with our DD. DD will be with us 1 night, move to VGF with the guest before we all move to SSR for the rest of the trip. Question is since they are on both on 2 reservations at the same time will that be a problem? The guest needs to know where Mears will drop her off.

Yes we definitely need more rules to complicate the answer.

I think they might have a problem with using their magic bands / phones to open the door at the second reservation. The front desk can sort that. Mears don’t have any info on the reservation, so the guest can ask to be go to either resort when they book.

Happy New Year! If you have a stupid question to ask, ask it here without fear of reprisal or being told to go use the search button. It may or may not get answered, depending on who sees it when. It may be a such good question that someone will suggest you take it prime time and make it its own thread. You may get a great answer. Or several! Or a stupid answer. Ready....go!

I'm looking to do a split stay next summer and have individual days booked at my home resort that I would replace with another resort at 7 months.
I don't see that there's a way to automatically cancel the old reservation(s) when booking a new one online. I'm nearly in borrow mode, so I don't want to have points unnecessarily borrowed and then have to bank points from the canceled reservation. I don't have plans to go to WDW the following year, so wouldn't be able to use the banked points.
I'm guessing that this is a situation where I'll have no choice but to call guest services to book and cancel for me, but if someone has another way to handle it, let me know.
