Won’t lie, just too lazy to search. When do we make room requests, and what is the most effective route for this? I’ve always just done the Touring Plans room request, but that one failed me last time. Will be at WL in November, and I need to be AWAY from the smoking area. Cigarette smoke triggers Tim’s migraines, and we were unable to use our balcony on the last trip. TIA! I got ya here! Do not use TP - really and truly. I wasted too many trips trying this out and got crappy results from them as in their requests were never recorded. This year exclusively I have either chatted, or e-mailed through MS website where I want to be. You can call too, but I like writing out what I wanted. SSR with two rooms together I got most of what I wanted but right next to each other so that was great. Very happy where I was. I was a bit more vague because being closer was more important. PVB we got exactly what I asked for. Then in June I just asked for higher floor and granted what I asked for. Then Jambo I said not pool side, happy to walk far. They got me what I asked for and boy was it a good walk that I'm sure others would have hated LOL. If I were you I'd put in "upper floor, lake side. Cannot be near smoking section due to migraine triggers" and then double check at check in. We had to do that with the family in June (not DVC, booked through Disney and made no requests) and they moved them.

Chat would be with MS from the member website (when available).

How far in advance do I need to make my requests? Is it 10 days? We always try to make our requests 10 days out.

Why not just lick asbestos and eat glass for breakfast?
I am not a vape fan either, but at least it does not stink.....and has no tar and other byproducts known to kill you.

I licked asbestos one time. No on the glass, though

Other smokables have so much nicer a smell. I don't partake, but I do enjoy the smell of California...
Cigarettes, OTOH, are vile.
Cheers.

How far in advance do I need to make my requests? Is it 10 days? I do mine about 3 weeks out just so I don't forget. It's worked well. Won’t lie, just too lazy to search. It does smell though and sometimes not great. Guy vaped right in front of me at Disney. Vapor got in my face and stung my eyes. Vape second hand has aerosols that are harmful. It's not triggering to me but I still avoid www.heart.org/en/news/2022/05/31/in-secondhand-vape-scientists-smell-risk

It actually has many by products that are dangerous to one’s lungs, in addition to the nicotine which we know is proven to be addicting. It’s very appealing to younger kids and there has be many tragic cases of severe lung damage to them. Many drs, feel it’s far worse than cigarettes and will encourage patients to quite smoking, but do not turn to vaping for their nicotine fix. I don’t begrudge anyone who is a smoker if they smoke in designated areas and I understand those who truly have adverse reactions to not wanting to be able to be near it. I’m not a fan of skunk weed since that’s what it smells like now. Weed did not smell like that years ago. It’s legal in so many states. Forgetting that’s what is smells like, sitting in a restaurant, at the bar having dinner, a couple walks on gets the seats next to me. I think ewe I smell skunk, lol. Duh me. It dawned on me she’s reeking of weed. Her chowing down a ‘appetizer’ that I can get and maybe get through a 1/3 yep. Her rudeness to someone looking for seats when they were getting ready to leave. Well that canceled the ‘chill’ factor.

And it seems that you're not smelling the good stuff, unfortunately. As to the non-chill person you mentioned - assholes are assholes. Weed ain't gonna change that. Cheers.

Maryland legalized recreational weed this past summer. Now, you can't go anyplace without smelling "skunk" weed. Its terrible.
Our company has designed a few grow facilitates, processing facilities and probably around 60% of the retail facilities in Maryland. They all stink to me. When we are in their facilities, it takes a day for the smell to get out of my nose. I will say, that the weed growers of today are nothing like the weed growers of my youth. Very high tech with so much science and technology going in those facilities.

Unless they are just buying cheap stuff from corner dealers. Which would seem stupid if you can go into a store and buy it and know where it’s coming from and what’s in it.
