The following story from Pirates & Princesses is interesting, in a "Roz" sort of way: www.piratesandprincesses.net/disneyland-gets-more-discounts-for-star-wars-experiences-what-about-walt-disney-world-bob/ "... I'm watching you Wazowski ... always watching ...." In fairness, I am among those who would decidedly rather win a free trip to WDW than Disneyland, so some pricing asymmetry may be demand-justified. However, given the fraught (and incompletely resolved) California vs. Florida political vibes within Disney the last several months, I am not certain that very many pro-California pricing differentials are a great idea, unless the specific experiences are materially different.

The experiences are completely different and I'm not sure that the "political vibes" matter to the vast majority of park goers. I'd consider it a non-issue in their planning.
Cheers.

Likely has to do with more visitors to Disneyland are locals vs. WDW and frequent guests are less likely to load up on "one-time" souvenirs and need a bit more incentive to do so.

The lightsaber & droid-building experiences are different? Or are you saying the experience of being at WDW & Disneyland? I'd agree with the latter. I've only done the lightsaber & droid at WDW. I'd be curious if/why they are different at DL. I was under the assumption the two lands were identical. If that is the case, the price difference doesn't make sense to me (other than demand).

Definitely the latter, While a given discount may be for some specific thing, offering at one location versus another is more likely a reflection of the location as a whole. And, as we all know, these are vastly different.
Cheers.

DLR and WDW are run independently so different discounts just like different AP programs has always been the case.
