My word what a frustrating incident. Why on earth can't people behave themselves, especially in a place where everyone should feel safe. (Strong Language Warning).
Out of curiosity, what would you do if you saw and incident like this one occuring in a park? It takes time for security to show up, so until then, the bad actors may continue for quite some time, as in this situation. Would you watch? Take video? Run away? Yell for them to stop? Do you think anything would help?
It appears that some guests are trying to intervene, but if the instigators want to keep fighting, I'm not sure how much involving yourself is going to help. You just might get a lifetime ban yourself!

I would realize that these things happen all over and that the Disney parks are not unique. And I'd move on.
Cheers.

So is Disney cutting back on security? I mean how long does it take for security to intervene? Can security handcuff? Just what can they do?

I’d get out of there asap. And call 911 once I’m safely out of the way.

I would get away from that scene as fast as I could. Speechless.
The fact that it took security that long to appear is flat out unacceptable.

I'd be calling for security. Maybe watch to make sure kids were safe. So sad. Security took a couple minutes to get there. Sad how angry one in particular seemed.

Looks like security was there within 3 minutes, I don’t think that’s too egregious. I sure as hell don’t get involved. I’m not kind enough to care about the idiocy of others.

I could be wrong, but it looks like he was beating on his own family members!! Even when security got there, I didn't see them do a darn thing. Disney needs to start getting a grip on these incidents. Too many happening. How about the police? A lot of times security doesn't even carry a firearm. There must be some type of Disney Po Po.

This is old right? I'm pretty sure I've seen this before. I definitely wouldn't intervene. I'd probably watch but certainly not take videos.

What I find particularly interesting is the lack of interest in their surroundings, the kids, and it is obviously a ongoing home situation. If I remember correctly, most of these people received jail time (including the ones that were trying to help).

You see some out of control crazy person beating up on a kid or a smaller person and it's hard not to want to help. But then you probably just end up as a participant in the fight and get a park ban and/or jail time. So then you walk away and not help!? It's a lose/lose situation, honestly.

DH notices much more than I. We've seen a situation on the Boardwalk with all parties being penalized. Once, as we were doing our WS circuits this woman ran up to thank him. He just smiled and we moved on. The next day he told me he noticed a toddler in a stroller with sunstroke. He waited for the adults around to notice but they weren't so he walked up, pointed it out and then walked back to wait for me to return - got in and got out, figuring he did his part. Of the 4 adults around the kid, 2 appreciated his interference. I guess they were waiting for the kid to convulse. They certainly didn't cut their day short as we kept passing them around the WS. Yes, the world is full of idiots.
