This is so fun! I feel like I am an outlier here, but here goes... Prince! RIP! He was my next door neighbor and hometown superstar. His Purple Rain Super Bowl Halftime show is iconic and in my opinion, the best ever performed. Sometimes we could hear him on his guitar out by the bonfire.
A few of my favorite live concerts: Prince concerts at Paisley Park. One night he jammed all night with Madonna! No cell phones and no alcohol allowed. They were quick to show you the exit if you didn't follow the rules! The Offspring, small venue, First Ave in Minneapolis Queen with Adam Lambert Pitbull Elton John in Las Vegas Black Eyed Peas
My SXM is usually tuned to The 10 Spot. Music from 2010-2020. I love Lizzo!

I love Lizzo! I've seen videos of Adam Lambert with Queen - I think he is a good successor to Freddy - I would have loved to see Freddy, but I'll take Adam! Also wish I'd had the chance to see Sir Elton - he's iconic.

Sometimes we could hear him on his guitar out by the bonfire. This is so cool. Slightly related: I've noticed a disturbing trend in radio stations to play the "short version" of Purple Rain. As in, they have the audacity to fade the song out right when that guitar solo starts. I get so angry! I know of two radio stations that would NEVER end a Prince song prematurely, so at least there's that.

I’m an 80’s girl so anything from the big hair-metal bands to alternative and anything in between. But I also love 70’s music since that’s what my Mom always had on in the car. But I listen to pretty much everything. I’ve been to concerts that range from Pantera to Beach Boys. . As others have mentioned, IMHO concerts are too expensive now, the artists make enough money, they don’t need mine LOL.

Another good documentary is “The Other One: The Long Strange Trip of Bob Weir” on Netflix.

I did not know them, but have heard of them recently. I added this to the list.
Another good documentary is “The Other One: The Long Strange Trip of Bob Weir” on Netflix. While I can't bring myself to go and see Bobby's various bands after seeing the Dead, Bobby is a fixture in the Bay Area. At dead shows I used to work his dressing room often and talked with him multiple times. Even played football with him once when a Bill graham team played against Bobby's local Mill Valley team.
He's doing 6 sold out shows at a small venue here, and he will rock. We went a few month back to see Nathaniel Rateliff at that same venue and Bobby showed up for a 4-song encore.
Definitely added this.
Cheers.

BRP, you never cease to amaze me. I thought of you while watching this. I feel like you’re actually a very VIP in the music industry! Who knew!

Another good documentary is “The Other One: The Long Strange Trip of Bob Weir” on Netflix. OK, just watched this last night. I thought it would be good, and it was quite a bit better than that. Very bittersweet memories of working at concerts up until Jerry died. The event held in Golden Gate Park was cathartic and I was part of the crew helping to set that up. BRP, you never cease to amaze me. I thought of you while watching this. I feel like you’re actually a very VIP in the music industry! Who knew! Hardly. The artists are the VIPs. Having worked in the business for 20 years, I have just seen a lot and know a lot of people and have some connections. That and I'm on the mailing lists for really a lot of artists and venues as well as following over 100 artists/venues on pollstar.
Obsession has its rewards
Cheers.
