Have fun! I love the family trips like these where different folks come, stay for a while, and go. Bringing it all together is very rewarding. We'll be there the same time frame -- it's our spring break. I figure it'll be super busy? I dunno I haven't been to a tourist destination over spring break in many years. We tend to stay home that time of year.

I'm checking in again. This time next week I should be asleep and set to wake up in 2 hours so I can catch my 6:00 a.m. flight out of Baltimore. I have a little snag on the way. Long story shirt I'm going to be wearing a brace on my right leg while I'm in Disney. No I didn't break a bone or sprain a muscle. It's a skin issue. But you know me. It takes a world pandemic to keep me away from Disney World.
More people are joining my family weekend trip. That is in 3 weeks from today. We're going to have a full house on Saturday March 25th. Everyone is very excited. Not so excited about buying tickets. Damn but are those expensive. My sister has me on the lookout for when annual passes go back on sale. I have orders to buy one as soon as they do and send her the invoice.
The flower &
garden festival stuff looks beautiful. I can't wait to get there and see if they have a Figment shirt left.
I've watched dozens of ride videos for Tron. No it does not go backwards. It does not invert. It does have a fast launch rivaling test track and RNR.

I'm planning on sleeping all day before my flight. I'm taking these early flights before for New Year's trips. They are exhausting but the excitement of going helps make up for that.

Wishing you the best trip, ever! Looking forward to hearing your TRON experience. I did not like GotG - glad I did it once, but I don't feel the need to ever do it again, LOL. But if you like TRON, I probably will, too. We're going down in early May mainly for the Flower & Garden Festival. Love it a lot more than Food & Wine.

But if you like TRON, I probably will, too. We're going down in early May mainly for the Flower & Garden Festival. Love it a lot more than Food & Wine. From the ride videos and the reports I'm hearing, I think Tron is going to be like a souped up Slinky dog. Has a fast start and lots of ups and downs with some banking left and right, but it doesn't spin like Guardians or go upside down. The upside down thing would be a ride killer for me. I don't go on rock and roller coaster because of that. And I understand the fast launch is similar to rock and roller coaster. But as long as I'm strapped in tight, I'm good to go. I'm actually a big chicken when it comes to roller coasters. I get very nervous I'm going to be the one individual who gets thrown out of the ride vehicle. News at 11:00. But that serves to get my adrenaline pumping. When I went on Guardians of the Galaxy last October, I knew I wanted to do it but I worried how I would fit on the vehicle. Would I feel secure. All those things. I just wanted to know if I would survive being on it. The turning doesn't bother me. I'm not prone to motion sickness. In fact when I have a big wide open space, I will intentionally spend my wheelchair around and around and around to make myself dizzy. And then I'll switch directions and go the other way. I'm fortunate in that but the first ride I ever took on Guardians I was so nervous I couldn't tell you what I saw or what song they played. I did have a huge adrenaline rush afterwards which was very exhilarating. Made me want to do it again. I ended up on Guardians six times last October. I would start my day with a virtual cue and end my evening with a lightning lane. Then I could really really enjoy it. Well I did do a squirm test while on the ride. I actually tried to get out while it was moving. And that lap bar harness had me in tight. There was no way I was going anywhere. I'm still not brave enough to hold my arms up in the air as we fly. But I am brave enough to go on it again and again. Expedition Everest scares the living hell out of me because it goes backwards for 20 seconds at the launch. That is the sensation of falling and I am terrified of falling. I left over from childhood. Every time I fell I hurt something. But it's a very easy transfer. I don't actually don't need any help. I'm hoping Tron is like expedition in the transfer. It looks like it is. Assuming that side door lifts up and allows the slide transfer for wheelies like me. Then we just sit on the side and pivot. Slinky Dog is pure heaven. I could go on that thing 10 times in a day. Unfortunately it's like stepping in and out of a bathtub which I cannot do. So I always have to have somebody around who can lift me. The family is all excited. My brother is coming to my house Saturday night so that we can carpool to the airport Sunday morning. And yes it's daylight savings time so we're going to lose an hour of sleep. My nephew got off work Sunday and Monday so he'll be driving down from Savannah. And we're going to try to go on as many roller coasters as possible. The uncle and cousins are all packed and ready to go down by train. My sister and my niece are joining us for the family weekend. Hoping my nephew-in-law can join us. We're going to have a fun full House. Now I just need to get myself over to wound care tomorrow so I can have my leg taken care of. I'll be bandaged up on my trip but it's not broken. It's just a swollen skin issue. The older you get the poor your circulation is in your extremities. A little scrape turns into a sore that just won't heal. So they wrap me up in bandages and compression. I look like The Mummy. But my leg is well protected and I just can't get it wet. So I have to wear a plastic boot when I shower. And no pool or hot tub time for me this trip. Always seems to happen these days.

I always look forward to your trip reports. Good luck with the 6 am flight! It’s hard to do those flights but at least you’ll have an easy security line.
I always tell myself I’ll sleep on those early morning flights, but then I’m too excited to nap.

Hey everyone!
It is a little after 1:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. I have to get up in an hour and get dressed for my early morning flight to Disney. My brother is here trying to nap. We're taking two different airlines but leaving from the same airport. We leave at 6:00 a.m.
So in less than 9 hours I will be in the land where dreams come true.
I should be asleep. But I'm just too excited. Good thing I slept most of yesterday.
Right now I've got one of those live blog videos playing on the TV. They were Magic Kingdom on Wednesday and I'm watching The 3:00 p.m. festival of fantasy parade. Oh how I love some of those costumes. Here comes Rapunzel!
This is only a 48 hour trip. A ride on Tron is booked at 2:00 p.m. I'll be riding in the accessible seat in the last row. My brother and my nephew are joining me and will be in the cycle seats in front of me. I've watched as many videos as possible so I'm pretty darn certain I can do this one without issue. But I have this insane ridiculous fear that I'm going to be that one guest in a billion that gets flung out of the vehicle mid-air and ends up news at 11:00. I know crazy right? It shouldn't happen but maybe you could say a little prayer to the big guy that it doesn't.
We are staying at the dolphin for one night. I'm all checked in. It gives us extra magic hour privileges at the parks. Great because I'm not coming home until 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. The downside is both my brother and my nephew will be long gone by fireworks time. Brother has a flight back at 11:00 and nephew has to be at work in Savannah on Tuesday. So it'll just be me and my lonesome closing out the park until the wee hours. I'll probably get picked up for the airport around 3:00 a.m. then I'm just coming home and sleeping all day Tuesday.
I'll check in as often as I can on my trip. I only have my phone with me.
So as I shut my eyes for one more hour, there's Peter Pan and Captain Hook and little Tinkerbell going off my screen. Taking me to dreams of Neverland.

I am lucky I can try the regular seats and they were totally patient with me. But the line I saw was pretty big yesterday for our 2pm.

Hey everyone, I'm checking in on Monday March 13th, the second day of a whirlwind trip.
The guys and I are tucked up in our room at the dolphin. Completely exhausted from yesterday. My wheelchair is still charging and probably will be for the next 3 hours.
When we started this trip we would say it would be what we would talk about for years. Other because it was the most perfect exciting trip ever or because we survived it. I have to say it's a little bit of both. We have all pushed ourselves beyond the max. Getting up super early for travel and park hopping 2 big parks In one day.
I had all sorts of travel problems. My flight was delayed at the gate because of passenger had to get off at the last minute. Then when they brought the wheelchair to me they had bent it into a pretzel. Nothing was broken but it took some jury rigging to get it back in shape. And then I picked up some sort of food poisoning. When I finally got on my bus I was the very last stop. I think I was on it for an hour and a half. They let me off at the dolphin and of course I got lost in this huge hotel. Made it into the park where I had to remember the bathroom again. I made it just in time for the 1:00 p.m. Virtual cue for Guardians. But MDE didn't think I was in the park. Be nice to guest relations umbrella lady got me all configured. So I met up with the guys and we hopped to Magic Kingdom for Tron.
I was super nervous about Tron. That was a ride I never thought I could do. And I have this insane irrational fear with every new roller coaster that I will be the one in a billion passenger who will be flung out to her death. I wasn't. The seats were very roomy and comfortable. Although I can't really do a easy slide transfer. When I try to actually fell into the bucket seat. I'll need help getting on and off this one. But once I'm on, it's fun.
I did use my DAS to convert my standby to a lightning lane. That saved a huge chunk of wait. The pre-show room is cool but a little small. It's like they only want to let you in groups of a dozen or so.
Yes there is a wait for the accessible seats in the back of the train. And only three of seven trains have accessible seats. Tall people have to use them not just disabled. Although the wait wasn't too long. Maybe an extra 15 minutes. Cast members told me they've collect enough data on these trials to know they need more trains with accessible seating. They're currently working on getting more.
I'm glad I watched Tron before I came on this trip. It gave me a grounding in the story lore although it's not too big of a story. You can enjoy it Even if you know nothing about Tron. You're riding a light cycle. What more is there now?
After Tron we went on seven dwarves which is actually rougher. There's more swinging and swaying. And the seeds are incredibly hard. This has become my least favorite roller coaster in the park for comfort. I will always love it because it was my dad's favorite.
Then we hopped back to Epcot because our boarding group was called for Guardians. But again I had problems. Felt nauseous and had to go to the bathroom again. I didn't throw up. And after a respite I felt decent again.
Went on Guardians for my seventh time. This time we had disco inferno. Fun song. And I do think this ride is my favorite roller coaster in the park. You get a lot more motion and g-forces. Particularly love the bit really pull you down as you turn in circle the planet. That's a great rush. Gives you the feeling of weightlessness and being pulled. Yes I know there are a lot of people who cannot do it because of motion sickness. As you can tell from my battles with food poisoning, apparently I'm not one of those people. I can be nauseous and hour before and still ride this one without getting sick.
I was going to split off from the guys after that and go back to the room to recharge. But it was already after 6:00. So instead I just took a leisurely stroll around the countries. They even videotaped it with my new camera setup. I'll upload that to YouTube.
Met up with the guys in America. I went to go see The American adventure while the guys hunted food. Had another bout of nausea but kept it under control. I just could not eat anything yesterday.
We went to the smash mouth concert which was fantastic. What a lively group? They were dancing with the audience and getting the audience to sing. So much fun.
After that we had about 20 minutes before fireworks so went to Germany. My beloved wheelchair spot which I abandoned last year because the viewing in front was so much better. But it was nice to go back there. It was not crowded at all. Although I did notice they removed the two benches they had for companions. That's going to suck. Does leave more room for wheelchairs though and it keeps the able-bodied squatters way.
I filmed all of Harmonius as well.
When the park closed, we split up again. Need to head back to the hotel and find the room. The guy is to go move Matthew's car from Epcot lot to the hotel.
It's a nice room. Not huge. There's only a king size bed but there is a walk-in shower for me. Only problem is the bed is huge! It's a good four to five inches higher than normal. So there's no way I can get in and out by myself.
Had another belt with the bathroom but I made it. And I finally threw up. Not that I had much food in my stomach. It was mostly all the things I drink today. Water and juice. I feel better now.
My nephew has blisters all over his feet. He walked 12 miles today. My brother is exhausted. And like I said my chair is still charging. We decided to change our prep reservations from Epcot to Hollywood Studios today. So I guess I'll go on my beloved slinky dog again.
I will be homeless tonight but I get a ride to the airport at 3:15 a.m. my flight leaves at 6:15. And I expect to be in my own bed by noon. Hopefully this little food poisoning bug is gone today. We'll see.
One thing I definitely will do next week is having more leisurely pace. My travel days I will just settle in. No park hopping. And definitely no drinking spoiled milk before I leave town. I think that's what did me in yesterday

Hope you are feeling better today Jen. I have to say how jealous I am that you got to see Smash Mouth. I love them. Glad it was fun.
