Never thought the USA would be book banning but I guess I am just naive.

Very scary stuff when free speech is only protected when it is something that the government wants you to say. You are 100% correct in this statement. But it always depends on who controls "the government", doesn't it?

Will Disney still be able to have "Gay Days"? That’s not a Disney event. Set up from an outside group.

Will Disney still be able to have "Gay Days"? This has never been a Disney sponsored event. It is run by an outside group who stay off site. Nothing with the changes would affect that. They, as a group, offer both WDW and USF options among other things. ETA: Here is this year's schedule www.gaydays.com/index.php/2023-calendarWe met Josh D'Amaro at last year's red shirt day at MK

It is a tradition that started in 1991. Traditionally it has always been the first weekend in June with MK being on the first saturday. It was a Way for LGBTQ members to be able to find each other. Now when gay days occurs in any park at Disney or Universal, they wear the red shirts so that they know who is a part of the group. You can see some of the shirts here. www.gaytravel4u.com/event/red-shirt-pride-day-orlando

. But when CMs cried for support from the company, Here in lied a lot of the issue. There was a very vocal group of Disney Employees that cried out. But as many know who were onsite around this time, there were many CM that wanted them to just stfu..but they are not the vocal voice and in today's world and media environment, the loud screechers from both the left and the right get the story space and voice. And as it relates to the Citizens United Ruling, it was around corporate funding of a position. I suppose it could speak to a corporation trying to influence legislators directly but more about funding the message. Moot point because it is water under over the dam at this point. We will see what happens with Reedy.

I am hoping that everyone regardless of social class, sexuality, race, creed, etc. is welcomed to the most Magical Place on Earth.

I'll remind again to please be kind and not go in ways that make me feel like we have to moderate when I sure as heck do not want to.
Also if someone says something, it is wise not to respond in the exact opposite opinion of those you quoted. Egging on isn't fun.
As for Red Shirt days if they were welcome in 1991, when life was a lot more hidden, they'll still be welcomed today. I'll let you know turn out in a couple months. I have my red shirt ready to go for the day and my park reservations made.

www.edweek.org/leadership/heres-what-floridas-dont-say-gay-and-anti-woke-bills-actually-say/2022/03?s_kwcid=AL!6416!3!602270476281!!!g!!&utm_source=goog&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=ew+dynamic+recent&ccid=dynamic+ads+recent+articles&ccag=recent+articles+dynamic&cckw=&cccv=dynamic+ad&gclid=CjwKCAiAmJGgBhAZEiwA1JZolgfaFSWMRyQJtuRlbi1cmPZQ-GeIDimuK0krecYL5_SEi8YPgwVLuBoCG_YQAvD_BwE I just googled the florida bill to see whats in it. Quick search, its not to teach sexual orientation to kids below grade 3. I live in RI - there was no talk of sexuality at all - until my kids were in 5th grade - and then, start of year, we got a note home saying that it would be discussed. This was not discussed until grade 5 when my kids went to school. In kindergarten they reviewed there were many different forms of families - including two moms, two dads, one mom, one dad -ect. All of this is age appropriate. I think the bill seems to be saying not to discuss before grade 3. I think the gray area where it says age appropriate as determined by department of education. But the deparment of education sets the criteria for everything already.... Truth is relevant and determined by those who write it.
