Okay you all don't know me for trip reports. Anytime I do them it is a sum-up type thing. This will be just a snippet of our day. My 15yo marched Main St this morning and then joined us at about 11 for a ride or so then lunch at Steakhouse 71. That was pretty darn good. Guys said burger was a good one. I had a slightly modified club sandwich which was also good and safe. Had a nice lunch with a few friends here. No pics sorry.... After lunch we rode Tron. I was getting vary anxious about the ride. My down day yesterday was muffed and I spent from 8am to after 4pm at DHS. This was tough on me and today I was feeling it. For those who don't know I have issues stemming from a condition in childhood. I'm often in a bunch of pain or losing feeling or dealing with muscle spasms. It's not fun and it triggers anxiety/panic attacks at times. Today I was hurting and dealing with spasms only so 2 out of 3 isn't awful lol. We had Tron today at 2pm. It was insane. They had a 2pm line and a 2:30pm line when we got there right at 2. Yes people were lining up at 2 for 30 mins later. That felt useless as the line really moved when we were able to go. So don't go early. The line moves. The wait time was only after check in lines, and they were pretty long looking ahead so I asked about DAS and yep, they had that (thank goodness). It was a pretty short wait to get on the coaster, but the positioning had me worried. I didn't have it in me to use the back row either. That long was huuuuuge and mostly people of larger sizes were using it. I had a minor freak out when my phone wasn't fitting sideways but the CM showed me they are meant to be top to bottom for long phones. But glad she helped as I was able to mention my issues and that I am sometimes slow to move and such. The hardest part for me was pulling the handlebars towards me. In the position I was in my muscles revolted a little but the CM was super helpful. I am short and my husband said my short arms made it harder too. Kinda sad. I'm not weak either, but it required core muscles that are D.E.D. dead the best part was the CM was sooo gentle with the back brace knowing. Unlike FOP explaining to them to be gentle, they seem to push in hard. This one I didn't feel at all and the position was resting more on my stomach/chest than anything which was good for me. The launch was pretty cool. The ride itself was short but unique to me. So many are dogging it, but I think it's great. Kind of the level I wish 7DMT had been. Now while not super intense, this was definitely not super mild.... see evidence below. It's fun and I cannot wait to ride again. Definitely fun for us and super smooth.

So, just to confirm" Tron is not a spin kinda thing ala Guardians? That was not for me and never again. a non-car-spinning coaster works.
Also, does rope dropping for this seem likely to work, or are they doing VQ for this?
Cheers.

Guardians will continue to operate using VQ also.

We don't typically go to MK in the morning, but may go one day and try the morning VQ time. For the other days, we can always try the 1PM and then hop over there if our time is going to be after 2.
Or we just wait a few years until it's no longer VQ
Cheers.

I am looking forward to Tron when we go in April. I am happy to hear you enjoyed it as there have been negative reports.

I had an update on my phone that coincides with my Disney app crashing and not being responsive at all. A known BG1 gal got shut out because it crashed again and became unresponsive, but at 1pm I had my kid's phone out and got through. I should report to IT that the refresh button doesn't work right anymore (it acts like I refreshed in terms of button but only about 25% now does it actually refresh) . We got in no issues at 1pm. I'll be back to all phones come June doing this. But 1pm was less stressful. We were eating lunch and got called 2 hours later. So might be my preferred anyway on a late start day like it was for us. I am looking forward to Tron when we go in April. I am happy to hear you enjoyed it as there have been negative reports. I had right expectations going into this ride. I knew it wasn't super long or way exciting. But the end was the launch was way more than expected and I really enjoyed the indoor portion. It's not super intense but it is good for what it was. I'm also very grateful his doesn't hurt me the way FoP does.

@helenabear
I love your sons hair!! Haha so typical but cute! That was great to hear the CM’s were so patient with you. As long as Tron does not spin ( or go backwards), I could do it. Now for 7DMT, well that was intense! ( as was Slinky dog! ). So good to hear it wasn’t as bad.

Tbh, I am just grateful for new rides! When I ride FOP I lean forward but do not sit all the way forward as they tell you. That way when the back comes up I am not squeezed in the seat. Being tight in the seat space would bother me. I haven't fallen out yet!

We also enjoyed our TRON DVC Member event. The only part of the ride that bothered me was the darkness at the line entry. Once my eyes adapted to the low light level I was good. Our line was practically non-existent, probably because we arrived right at the end of our 'window'. The seat was MUCH more comfortable that I had read earlier. My biggest problem was lifting my leg high enough to get on and off the 'motorcycle'. For me the rides was a 'just right' length with no sideways or backwards motion. Perfect. While we would like to ride it again, I doubt of we will unless Disney brings back the ability to create a FP from home - LOL

Now for 7DMT, well that was intense! ( as was Slinky dog! ). So good to hear it wasn’t as bad. No spin or backwards. I would say this is more intense than 7DMT to be honest. I hear some say it's kiddie coaster but not really. Definitely more than Slinky Dog as well. I was insanely happy to see that the CM was so patient with me. I was having anxiety over the position of the ride but it isn't bad at all for me. The CM was beyond nice. Tbh, I am just grateful for new rides! When I ride FOP I lean forward but do not sit all the way forward as they tell you. That way when the back comes up I am not squeezed in the seat. Being tight in the seat space would bother me. I haven't fallen out yet! I tried what you do once and got told to move so it hit me hard in the back. Then I tried moving all the way up the next ride as previously instructed and I was told I had to lean over more. No winning on that one I think for me. Really the positioning looks similar but tilted. The tilt changes everything. If my kid didn't like FoP so much I'd never bother riding it again LOL. We also enjoyed our TRON DVC Member event. While we would like to ride it again, I doubt of we will unless Disney brings back the ability to create a FP from home - LOL I came in through the DAS but I think they were simliar. My husband almost walked into a wall LOL. I think even if I had gone later, the line would still have been bad. We had a 2pm and a 2:30 already lined up. I'm sure 3pm was not long after. But the walk on with DAS was nice. I think a lot of people will struggle to get on the ride with how you have to lift the leg up and over. I did make sure I took the further position (left vs right) so my kid didn't have to wonder how to walk around. My kid. last night watching MK from our room, asked to ride it at night. I told him we'd do ILL for that because timing it will be harder and I'm sure they'll be more strict about return times vs GotG but I could be wrong.

Your son's hair is great! Don't cut the hair. I think the Tron will have Lightin Lane at a cost as well as VQ as does Guardians.

It's naturally curly so we keep it longer on top - usually, the product keeps it from moving around much, but that day he did the parade with a hat so didn't bother. I love his hair! I imagine they will have ILL for tron too. It's one I'd be happy to pay for to ride at night. Husband agreed when we talked on the way home last night.

Thanks for the TR and Tron info. So glad y'all enjoyed the ride, and the CMs were helpful! Glad your son got to march down Main St, and enjoy a great trip to WDW! We're looking forward to Tron, might not be until Oct, but still excited!

Thank you for this. Our niece, who is 28, loves coasters. She said the length of the Tron ride is just right. Any linger and it would be uncomfortable. And she loved it. I’m excited to do this in May. Though I’m still worried about GotG. I love thrill rides but I’m not as young as I used to be -and some of the issues folks have had has me a bit concerned.

I will be at Disney (trying out Riviera for the first time) solo 4/2-4/9....will definitely try to get a VQ for Tron one of those days....it's sounding like a ride I'd enjoy--i have no issues w/FOP (or with leg-lifting--a side benefit from being an exercise nut!), nor do I usually experience any kind of motion sickness, so I'm not "afraid" of the Tron reviews suggesting problems fitting on the ride (am in a slim phase--it won't last, but for the moment I'm a pretty average 5'6" wearing a size 8)....but I can't resist noting that I (and my whole family) just love GotG--despite the descriptions that suggest problems, we had no issues at all....it's so very smooth that it's just plain fun (at least for us), spinning cars and swooping curves and all....I'm very curious to see if I wind up liking Tron as much. Right now, GotG doesn't "threaten" my "top 3 rides of all time" list (a 3-way tie among FOP, Soarin and Harry Potter Land's Forbidden Journey), but it's way up there behind those 3....thanks for the review; knowing what you-all thought of the ride makes me eager to give it a try myself....
