Thanks for the TR and Tron info. So glad y'all enjoyed the ride, and the CMs were helpful! Glad your son got to march down Main St, and enjoy a great trip to WDW!
We're looking forward to Tron, might not be until Oct, but still excited!
I'm glad that main street happened for my kid. It was something I remember doing decades later. I do wish they had scheduled their time differently but their choice being offsite made it difficult for the kids to rest. Monday afternoon was nap time in our room
I think my expectations were right for Tron. I wasn't expecting super thrill so this was a pleasant surprise to see it wasn't another kiddie coaster.
Thank you for this. Our niece, who is 28, loves coasters. She said the length of the Tron ride is just right. Any linger and it would be uncomfortable. And she loved it. I’m excited to do this in May. Though I’m still worried about GotG. I love thrill rides but I’m not as young as I used to be -and some of the issues folks have had has me athe bit concerned.
I rode guardians my first time with some who do have issues. They suggested first car. The ride is fun and one of my kid's favorites, but I do know it can be fun. The ones who usually have issues took bonine (or equivalent) and were fine. Fingers crossed for you.
I will be at Disney (trying out Riviera for the first time) solo 4/2-4/9....will definitely try to get a VQ for Tron one of those days....it's sounding like a ride I'd enjoy--i have no issues w/FOP (or with leg-lifting--a side benefit from being an exercise nut!), nor do I usually experience any kind of motion sickness, so I'm not "afraid" of the Tron reviews suggesting problems fitting on the ride (am in a slim phase--it won't last, but for the moment I'm a pretty average 5'6" wearing a size 8)....but I can't resist noting that I (and my whole family) just love GotG--despite the descriptions that suggest problems, we had no issues at all....it's so very smooth that it's just plain fun (at least for us), spinning cars and swooping curves and all....I'm very curious to see if I wind up liking Tron as much. Right now, GotG doesn't "threaten" my "top 3 rides of all time" list (a 3-way tie among FOP, Soarin and Harry Potter Land's Forbidden Journey), but it's way up there behind those 3....thanks for the review; knowing what you-all thought of the ride makes me eager to give it a try myself....
If like GotG the afternoon VQ likely will be easier. I had app issues starting Monday to the point where my phone asked if I wanted the app to go into deep sleep due to the crashes. So I tried my kid's phone for the afternoon and that was easier. I know my phone is only off by .03 secs so we didn't bother with time.gov in the afternoon. You'll have a better chance of riding at night too.
This ride is just as, if not more, smooth than Guardians. Outside of that I will not compare. They are different beasts. I rode GotG 4x this trip and do enjoy it and sandwiched Tron in between. But dang I'm waiting on 2 songs to play still. My top ride is still Expedition Everest. I do think Tron is one of the better MK rides.
I will say being short (and mostly small) with physical issues made Tron harder to get on than FoP and I do think some with hip or back issues could struggle, but I did okay even after an isane day at DHS the day before. My spouse is pretty broad shouldered and average height for a guy and did fine. All said I know some will be unable to ride. That last car line will be insane after a while. I do think some will skip just because of it.
