We had dinner at Rosa Mexicano on Thursday. My impressions:
1. Nice casual atmosphere
2. Good, maybe a bit confusing, service. They used a "team" approach, so after the first waiter greeted us and left to get us water and drinks, another waiter came over to ask us if we wanted to order drinks and if we'd like water. Like many Mexican restaurants, we were given complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were good; the salsa was bland. It needed seasoning and it lacked any chile heat/flavor.
3. Drinks--many margarita variations; mine was part tequila, part mezcal; well made. The glass was set into another glass, which had dry ice of some sort, so the drink arrived "smoking." Neat but unnecessary effect.
4. Apps--we ordered the ceviche sampler as an app. Shrimp, tuna and salmon. Nice presentation. The shrimp ceviche was great. Lots of spice, just enough heat. I wasn't big on the salmon ceviche. Odd texture, good flavor. The tuna was ok. The fish was lost in the other flavors.
5. Main course--DW had the duck carnitas tacos. Below expectations. Duck was bland to the pint that it could have been pork or chicken thigh and you couldn't tell the difference. Under-seasoned. The corn tortillas were dry and fell apart. I had the enchilada sampler. Duck with salsa verde, beef brisket with salsa roja and Chihuahua cheese with mole poblano. Like DW, I thought the duck was blah; the salsa verde flavor was muted, like it was dumbed down. The brisket was tasty, but the salsa roja, like the salsa verde, was on the bland side. The cheese with mole poblano was excellent.
We skipped dessert. I'd intended on trying something from their extensive (but unimpressive) tequila list, but after we told the waiter we weren't ordering dessert, the check was immediately dropped on our table.
Overall, I'd give it a C. I'd go back for drinks, maybe try a new app, but I don't plan on returning for a full meal.

We had dinner there on the 20th. We were very excited and we’re pretty disappointed. Presentation was nice but taste of food was just meh. We also found it to be incredibly expensive for what we got. I’m sure a lot of that was do to some premium margaritas but overall we found the service slow and the value low.
I agree with the grade of a C

Appreciate all inputs/opinions but I think it is still worth a try, especially since it is within walking distance of the BW,BC and Yacht.

I will of course give my opinion when I do. Unfortunately it will not be until September. Oh what a long wait!

We ate here Friday night. We did not have an ADR and choose to sit at the bar. Unlike the last few reviews above, our drinks and food was very good. The Cielo Rosa margarita was delicious...(Casa Dragones Blanco Tequila, Hibiscus Pomegranate Syrup, Agave Nectar, Fresh Lime, Tres Chiles Tincture, Half Lime-Salt Rim). It has an interesting finish that is peppery, but not hot or burns, and doesn't linger. After tasting mine, Robin also ordered one and she does not drink margaritas ever. Since we were at the bar, we only ordered light fare. We shared guacamole, that is made fresh to order. This was better then expected and we finished the whole bowl. Robin ordered enchiladas and I ordered brisket tacos. I am not an enchiladas fan, so I thought they were ok, still not my favorite mexican food. My brisket tacos were very good, my only complaint about them is they might use a little less salt. All in all, we we go back for another round of margaritas and tacos.

Tom, you had me at Casa Dragones Tequila! I’m not sure I would hide in a margarita but it is pretty darn good.
We will probably try it sooner or later but the issue I have especially growing up in SoCal is that it seems the closer you get to a street cart with flys circling the better the food.

We have a resie there next week. Our last Disney hurrah before heading north for 2 months. We're doing Epcot Sat for the last time at F&G this year and to see the concert. Then Rosa next week. We are not huge Mexcian food fans, like of the places that serve rice and beans on every plate. All our friends always were, always wanted to do Mexican when we dined together. And DH would always be like uggghh. Not my fave either but I do like nachos and quesadillas and fajitas so I can always find something. Like the fancy Latin food places too that have steak and fish. So, we want to give this a go and see. We love margaritas so I am excited for that. Want to try the Cielo rosa one mentioned above. Will post back with my thoughts afterwards. And photos.

Want to try the Cielo rosa one mentioned above. I hope you like it as much as we did. Of course, the right bartender can do amazing things.
Looking forward to your thoughts and opinions of the new restaurant.

Went to Rosa last night. It was good but pricey for Mexican food. We each got a margarita. My Cielo Rosa was $19 and DH got the traditional for $16. They came in a highball glass (full of ice). So, small for the price. They were good and strong though. Very tasty. They have a pitcher of margs for $65. Holy moly!!! That's pricey. We didn't get any apps. Ate the table chips and salsa which they refilled. They weren't bad. DH got the Enchilada tasting at $33: with duck, beef and cheese. He enjoyed them. I tried the 3 sauces on his plate: verde, red and mole. Tasted good. Liked the verde a lot and the red. I am not a big fan of mole. It came with Spanish rice which he only ate a few bites of. It was national shrimp day so I got shrimp al mojo de ajo at $33 too. I love shrimp so that was an easy choice. It was good. Our bill before tip was $107 and they do no discounts. It was good quality food and drinks but not quite worth that much, IMO. We'd go back though. If with others who want to. Also will add: service was very good. We booked on open table and arrived 30 mins early but they sat us right away. The bar was empty so we could have walked up and sat there which we do like doing. They had team of servers taking care and they all were very attentive. This place would be totally worth it if we still have TIW and this was included.
Glad you enjoyed your meal and thanks for posting an update.
I thought the prices were in line with every other Disney Restaurant.....high. I liked them the best out of the other Disney Mexican Restaurants. But I do need to go back to the one over at Coranado Resort. Its been a long, long, long time since I have eaten there....but I am sure its still not great.

We went on our recent trip. Salsa was amazing. DS got a duck enchilada with mole sauce which was very good. DH and myself got the Chicken Suiza enchilada and it was good. One of our local Mexican restaurants has the same dish which is exceptional so it didn't compare for us, but was still very good.

We ate at Maya Grill in December (first time there). They had a chicken dish that was so good - I ended up giving it to DH because I knew he would love it. I traded for his short rib dinner that was just OK. Oh well, he owes me one. I heard the chicken dish is no longer on the menu. I would have gone back there just for that.

We liked Maya Grill. But when we ate there we had TIW. We also liked LA Haceinda but that was more fancy Mexican. I got fish there and really loved it. Probably had TIW then too. Man, I wish they'd bring that back. Even if just for FL residents and they made some must use X number times in a month or it's voided deal or if the other way, a restrictive punch card where we can only use it X number of times.
