Trying to decide for upcoming stay - two full weeks at BCV and three nights at VGF or 12 nights at BC and 6 nights at VGF? What are the accommodations? VGF has a much bigger DELUXE Villa compared to BCV. I love everything about VGF, but if your plans are to frequent Epcot a lot, nothing beats the proximity of BCV. Also are views important? BCV has no views. I would stay the 6 nights at VGF and 12 at BCV.

Right now VGF is low on my list since the path to PVB/TTC is pathetic and very unsafe to me. I would likley only swap to VGF for more nights simply to have more time between check in and check out.

The beach shorline update was recently completed, but the pathway from about Fiji on to the new shore line is still missing. Giving the construction I do not see them opening the path until close to completion sadly. Mkes our choices in the next year harder. I'm out of CCV points for another year (we're going this summer and next summer was tapped). I'm starting to be a bigger MK area fan again vs Epcot thanks to the skyliner among other stuff, but until that path is fixed, I'm not pressed to go.

We have made it work a couple of times, but I really don't like the path with the current outage. Right now VGF is low on my list since the path to PVB/TTC is pathetic and very unsafe to me. I had not heard about this. Last time we were there this looked fine. It was just the VGF to Poly that was busted.
Cheers.

That should be opening summer. From GF you can walk to Franck's but that's about it. From there until Fiji is non-existent as they redo the area. So they added in a temp path. The new path from VGF to/from Polynesian is awful. You cross the street twice and cut through the parking lot next to the wedding pavilion and into VGF lobby. Hated it. Watched a car nearly miss hitting another that was stopped for pedestrians in spite of flashy lights warning cars to slow the heck down. I'm not walking that path again - and I'm totally a walker. I usually would walk from TTC to VGF as it was faster anyway. Going to Epcot we wold walk to TTC because the monorail in the morning is slow.

We own at both. We love both. for different reasons..
First, my biggest complaint on VGF is transportation. It is very handy to MK. But Epcot the only option is the Monorail with a changeover at TTC. My 2nd biggest complaint is the point use inflation. BCV is much more reasonable point use. VGF has the best pool bar on property. If the path to MK is closed that is a problem but for our trip late Feb/early Mar the monorail was very consitent timing wise and allows you to skip security line at the park.
At the holidays I do not care about all that. LOVE VGF at holidays.
BCV, the biggest negative is the views. Just woods for the most part. But man it is convenient to walk into Epcot. the QS is not as nice as VGF. We actually like the pool less now but when our daughter was younger the sand bottom pool was great.
I think, if all else was even, we would choose VGF if we planned more time at resort but BCV if we wanted more park time.

I really feel this decision is dependent on park focus. We recently stayed at GFV deluxe and is was very nice experience. That said, we're no longer big attenders to MK so I'd prefer BCV for the walkable distance to HS, as well as WS. For our upcoming October trip I was thinking about a split stay because I could only reserve 3 nights at BCV and DH said he'd prefer SSR for the whole stay because he enjoys walking to Disney Springs. We're getting further and further away from the parks - been there, done that = not worth the line wait.

I would do 12/6. You may be ready for a change by day 12. Also, 3 nights goes by quickly and the 2nd part would feel more settled with 6 nights at VGF.
Both resorts are terrific. Sounds like a great vacation plan!

Sounds like a great vacation plan! I think this is what we are going to do. And agree that 3 nights goes by quickly. I have also found the VGF rooms are never ready early (just like BCV) So room time ends up being more like 1 and half days between late room for check in and check out by 11.

That's what I'm leaning toward. I guess part of it depends on whether you have Standard view or Lake view at VGF. Ordinarily, BCV is my favorite, but the Lake view at VGF is fantastic.
