The week has brought a number of reports which, taken together, suggest to me that Mr. Iger's call for media division changes and cost controls are being taken seriously. 1. An interesting, if gossipy, story about leadership changes at Marvel may be found here: thedirect.com/article/disney-fired-marvel-studios-president-reveals-new-report . My own two cents: as I am a "unity of command" believer, whenever I see "co-President" (or "co-Provost", "co-Director", or the equivalent) I expect that one or another form of unhappiness is just over the horizon. 2. A story suggests that Stitch is to become "resort exclusive" at the Polynesian: insidethemagic.net/2023/03/stitch-to-become-resort-exclusive-experience-at-disney-zg1/ . What does this have to do with media? I wonder if someone has noticed a concept overlap between the anomalous clones in The Bad Batch and the experimental Stitch, and also if the characters from the latter may be putting in an appearance at Batuu? Pure speculation. A light-up version of the electronic bow and arrow used by Omega might sell in the gift shop, as well as a "collect them all" set of Bad Batch action figures -- even two of Crosshair: good and bad. And also Rex. The increasingly named clones are a potential goldmine. 3. The Indiana Jones and Willow series planned for Disney+ reportedly have been shelved. Variety announced the plans last November: variety.com/2022/tv/news/indiana-jones-series-disney-plus-1235416179/but now www.cbr.com/indiana-jones-series-canceled-lucasfilm-star-wars/ . As for Willow: www.cbr.com/willow-first-lucasfilm-project-canceled-disney-plus/ . Two cents: I have posted in the past about political incorrectness issues in the Indiana Jones product line being "fixed" by the recent generations of Disney executives. If the fifth movie makes money, it will be interesting to watch the struggle over Dr. Jones' future: celebration or extinction.

Streaming services are all cutting back in order to become profitable. Willow wasn't very good, I only finished it because I wanted to see what happened. I've probably watched a dozen series in the last year or so and Willow would be near bottom of the list. It would be interesting to know how much they spent on a season of Willow vs one of the Star Wars series... Interesting for Indiana Jones, Lucas Films was told to concentrate on Star Wars, which shows you where viewership is right now.

Yeah Willow was bad. As someone who adores the movie, the show was awful. The language used, the acting, the story.... eh. It was bad. Then again so was Book of Boba Fett. Andor is a bit meh as well but better. The only SW series that was good was Mandalorian but right now this season is even meh comparatively. I did think Obi-Wan was neat but if they do another series I will think they are mad as all get out. Bad Batch at leaset has been around a while and a totally different vibe.
Disney needs to let go of SW so much and move on.

Good riddance to Willow. Very disappointing. but I think it was intended for a younger crowd, as was the National Treasure series. That one was fun, but got too ridiculous at the end, but I still enjoyed it. May have been mostly due to the setting in Baton Rouge. Good to see some familiar sites, (lived there for 15 years.) I am more than fine if they divert lots of their money to the second season of Andor, (best Star wars show yet. Loved all of it.) and a second season of Boba Fett, to redeem what travesty of what they did with Boba Fett in that first season. So disappointing, for how they developed my all time second favorite character. Very much love Bad Batch. They have Black series figures already for each, got 3 for my birthday. Hunter has gotten crazy expensive for some reason, so may never get that one. Doubt any of them, except maybe Omega, live long enough to be seen in Black Spire, if they stick with that ridiculous narrow timeline setting they've chosen. It would be SO much cooler if they'd just let that go, and have some other timelines represented, or even just offer more character meet/greets elsewhere (like Launch Bay.) Not sure about Indy. I dont' think these shows w the teen/twentysomething characters as main characters are catching on. I think a lot of streaming services are going to have to cut back on spending on their original shows/movies

Was just having this conversation this morning- nypost.com/2023/02/22/marvel-movies-infuriating-fans-will-the-mcu-finally-die/amp/Youngest was a Marvel junky until recently, they are as he puts it killing his childhood and alienating thier biggest fans- the former comic kids. The comparison given was they are taking Roles Royce and mass producing it as a generic stripped Hyundai. - the difference between Sony’s No Way Home and recent MCO releases was dramatic…

I think a lot of streaming services are going to have to cut back on spending on their original shows/movies The language of Willow felt like it was for a younger crowd, but none of the younger ones I knew appreciated it because so many hadn't ever seen the original. It felt like you needed the movie to understand the show. Boba Fett they need to let die with a massive apology to all of us who are fans. I still have the original 198x large action figure. The show was very painful to watch until it stopped being a Boba focus which angered me. I really wish for Andor they let me feel like I should care about Cassian but I don't. I don't care if he lived or died. The last 2 episodes were decent but I feel like they are catering to a type of SW fan that many of us are not and missing the fun. But I've been a fan since I was a kid so my feelings are different than some. I actually hope they cancel that one and honestly all now of the live action on D+ any movies too. Just be like Elsa before they lose all the original fans.

I forgot about the upcoming Ahsoka series. VERY excited for that, especially if Dave Filoni is totally in charge of it, writing and directing. Ahsoka is my DD"s favorite character. Hope it'll be good. I have learned to temper my expectations though on a lot of things, including Star Wars. Like I expected nothing from Bad Batch, and was very pleasantly surprised. I was beyond excited for Boba Fett, and so disappointed. Didn't hate all of it, just a lot of it. I want him to be like he was in The Tragedy episode of Mandalorian, kicking a$$ Andor was my favorite character in Rogue One, and wish there was more than just 1 more season coming. Not enthused about the Jude Law series. SW Celebration is in 2 weeks, so hopefully will get some announcements, and hope it's not anything Rian Johnson related.
Marvel series and movies....not sure where they're going to go with that. I really enjoyed Ms Marvel series, but She Hulk was eh, My Marvel loving DD didn't watch either, neither did DH or DS. I just finished watching almost all of the Netflix Marvel series, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, etc. and as far as I understand, they're rebooting Daredevil. Maybe it'll redeem some of the Marvel mistakes, missteps...Punisher would be good too, but it's definitely R rated Marvel. ditto Luke Cage.

I will be sad to see stitch leave the parks. He is one of my favorite characters. I am hoping they don't make a stitch live action.
