I was really interested in the 7-night sailing out of Port Canaveral and then they announced the DVC Member sailing with two stops at Lighthouse Point as well. Pricing is basically unknown for both. Trying to way the pros and cons of each here. Really thinking out loud, but please add any additional thoughts.
7 night on the Fantasy
Sails out of Port Canaveral (very familiar with that port) Could stay at WDW DVC before sailing, so no extra cost there.
Cost of cruise will be more than the DVC (I am assuming, but you never know) Would love more days on the ship.
Fantasy is a big ship, and I do prefer the smaller Magic and Wonder
DVC sails out of Ft. Lauderdale on the Magic
Port is unfamiliar to me and would probably require a hotel stay the night before Fewer days on the ship Love the smaller Magic and Wonder ships Hopefully cost would be less than the 7 nighter on the Fantasy

Hmmm, wouldn’t they run buses from WDW for the DVC cruise? I must admit I just assumed they would.

I have flown and cruised out of FLL. Love it! It is so easy, lots of hotels near the port and most have transportation to the ship. If you want to include a WDW stay pre or post cruise you need to go out of Port Canaveral. The DVC Member cruise is only 5 days. I personally would sail on the 7 day cruise and my money bets that they are very close in price. Also, the DVC cruise is not going to include gifts like previous cruises. How about staying in FLL a couple of days prior to the cruise? Also I love đź’• the Magic.
Hard choice but I would still go with the 7 day cruise out of PC and stay 3 days post cruise at WDW. Lucky you!

I was looking at this cruise too.
Both cruises will be expensive, higher then comparable cruises. The Fantasy cruise is its inaugural cruise and the DVC is second. Disney is using the Fantasy because they know it will sell out fast. The three stops at their private islands is so desirable to me.
In the end, we are choosing a later date because 1) I don't like being the first, let someone else work out the bugs 2) It will be expensive, higher then normal 3) The grandkids are still in school and we really want to take them.
