I'm a "hold-out"...I'm an early riser (4 a.m. most mornings, a habit I got into when my DS was an infant and I needed time to pay bills and do laundry before he awakened for the day), so the 7 a.m. "sign-in" time doesn't bother me. I don't have a problem w/rope drop timing except that I like to swim in the mornings and you can't both swim and make rope drop (except at a few resorts where they don't lock you out of the pools between closing and opening hours, and then only if they're not cleaning it at the time)...but I do resent the system that's "forcing" me to use my phone (I could go on for a whole novel's length about why I don't like using my phone). Anyway, so far I haven't even tried Genie+. Nor do I intend to (altho I've learned to never say never). The price is offensive, but for one person not a deal-breaker ... but the forced use of the phone for me is the deal breaker. And bottom line is I come to Disney often enough (4-5 times/year) that there are NO rides I "have to" ride on any given trip...nor are the rides "the" draw in the parks for me...I love the parks--the atmosphere and the sights--and go to each one each trip, but frequently ride only 1 (or even none) ride ... the trip I'm on now is at a crazy-busy time (spring break, the week before Easter) and crowds by 10 a.m. are intense...so I ride what I'm going to ride before 10, or a "lesser ride" (e.g., took the train around MK a couple of days ago--it had been years since I did that and it was fun) and then just enjoy the park atmosphere....I'm generally out of the park within 2-3 hours of getting there, and that works for me...I do have an AP so can and often do hop to a second, or even a third, park on any given day. So, as of now, I see no need (or even particular benefit) for Genie+ for me.
