So I made reservations for wife and I at OKW in a gorgeous 1-bd for two weeks. At the same time, I contacted my sister and proposed a "families trip" also bringing our mom. A room for mom, and a room for my sister and her husband kids. I said "we are going to book our room now, and I will need to know soon for your rooms." She dragged her feet, not being used to the early planning required for a DVC trip, and two months later she called me up and said "let's do this." I told her I can't guarantee the rooms are still available, and sure enough, they weren't. At least, not what she wanted. Wife and I are going for two weeks, and we wanted them to come for the first week, then we wave "Goodbye! Good luck! Good riddance!" to the people and the kids and then we stay a week to unwind and enjoy our time alone, the way it should be hee hee. Well, the first week was booked up some days, for some reason, so I secured the second week. She would prefer the first week, as would we.
So I been keeping my eye on the RAT, thinking I will jump on it if I see it. Thing is, I need TWO rooms. I could very we be seeing availability for only one room, then upon changing the reservation find out that I got the last room and I'm up a creek for the other room. I know it's a slim possibility but possible none the less.
So I was wondering if anyone knew of / could think of a work around, I'm thinking of somehow utilizing the old "two browsers" trick, or the newer-but-similar "computer + iPad" trick. But just looking with one browser doesn't remove anything from inventory, so the other browser would still see it as available. So I'm thinking you would have to start the reservation process (but not necessarily complete it), because if I am thinking of it correctly, starting to reserve a room secures it for 20 minutes or something like that? Doesn't it say something like "you must complete this booking within 20 minutes" or some such thing. Then, at that point I could fire up the other browser and check the RAT to see if there is a room available - which would be my second room.
