Similar to the "go to new posts" question, is there a way to show all threads that have New Posts with a single click as we had on the old platform with the "New Posts" button? I read often enough that I just like to see what's new across all threads.
Cheers.

The ones I saw were at the bottom of the main page, there's "recent threads" and "recent posts" but my brain wasn't clicking with the way they showed the stuff. So I just scroll down and look at the black Mickey-head icons on the left and if there is a white Castle icon superimposed on the Mickey then it means there is new stuff in there.

At the top with red arrow you can look at new posts to ones you've participated in.

I tried "recent threads" just now and it wasn't bad. My brain keeps looking for the bold/not bold way the old site indicated if things were new, in that list at the top of the page. I'll get used to it I'm sure...had all those years staring at the other one, this one's only been what, three days or whatever

The best thing that works for me is to click the "recent threads" (not recent posts) at the bottom, then I middle-click on the "new" buttons in each thread and it opens each one to the right place in a new tab. Then I just peruse each tab, and close it when I'm done.

Thanks all. 'Recent threads" is just what I was looking for. Y'all are great!
Cheers.

I kept getting distracted by the Mickey heads in the legend and overlooked these links. They are exactly how I approach things as well. I log on, work my way through the recent post list, and then move on. Thanks for helping me find it!

then I middle-click on the "new" buttons in each thread and it opens each one to the right place in a new tab. Then I just peruse each tab, and close it when I'm done. Hmm, mine doesn't open in a new tab. Must be a browser setting, or was that an option on this board that I missed? Not 100% sure I'd like a new tab I guess...I've been reading it, then I have a button on my mouse for "back" so I just click that and I'm back to that list of threads. Or I hit "z" sometimes

To open in a new tab it will depend on device and browser on how to do it. That's an option some browsers have but we won't do that here due to ADA compliance

To open in a new tab it will depend on device and browser on how to do it. Wife reads Food Blog on weekends and when killing time, and on that page sometimes you click on something and it opens in a new tab, most times not. So when I'm watching her and it pops a new tab, she usually doesn't know it and she's sitting there clicking "back" and not understanding why it won't work. She's getting it figured out, though. I'm a big fan of "open in new tab" when I right-click, I use that fairly often, usually in youtube when I see other videos I want to watch but don't want to leave the one I'm in.

That's part of the issue. It's really confusing. New tabs should have text or an icon next to it warning the user. Not as big of a deal with linking to a completely different site but one should not do open in new tabs without warning on linking through same parent site. Learning a lot recently on this subject for work. For those who want the open in new tab there are options. For the rest who might need more help it's best to not do it

Then one day you wake up and have 31 open active tabs. All projects I'm working on! Then one day...the browser crashes and two years worth of tabs are gone! Guess I didn't need that stuff.

So, on the "wish list" aspect of things, is there a way to have this capability at the top of the page? Not a biggies to scroll down each time, just a convenience. Also, with the prior site, this was available in many different modes, and not just Home screen.
Again, this is great capability, and these are just wish list.
Cheers.

That's an option some browsers have but we won't do that here due to ADA compliance Sorry to be confusing -- the key word there was "middle-click." This isn't a site setting, it's global: every windows browser I've ever used (since tabs became a thing) will load any link that you middle-click into a new tab (it's actually clicking "down" on the mousewheel, since middle mouse buttons aren't a thing anymore lol).
Yeah we definitely don't want the default action for anything to be "open in a new tab." That would be annoying! But it really helps my flow to do it that way -- for me, it isolates each tab as an individual subject or "to-do." Then I just close it when I'm done and don't have to worry about back/forward navigation and what gets reloaded every time I do so. To each their own!

I don't even have a middle button on mine it's right click for me. There are CTRL/Command options too for others. Even default settings on browsers can be adjusted.
