Just got home from a family vacation in a 2BR Savannah view at Kidani and thought I'd post some quick hits from our trip.
Our group was myself, DW, DD, DSiL, DGS not quite 5 and DGS 2.
Resort -
It was both DGSs first Disney experience and the first for DSiL at AKL.
The villa, #7218, was perfect in all respects. Both DGSs were amazed at the animals right outside. DSiL was equally in awe and said that everything about the resort was gorgeous. He joked that it will be hard to top this.
It was our first time at Kidani. DW and I both liked it better than Jambo. I'm not a pool person but I was really impressed at the Kidani pool area. It was very relaxing and had everything you could possibly need. I'll be going back for an afternoon with Pina Coladas as soon as possible.
Parks -
We did not buy Genie+ or PH tickets, the longest we waited for any ride was 30 minutes.
We all agreed that the parks were not overly busy. Just enough people to make it fun.
The longest we waited for any bus/boat was 5 minutes. DD and I are both type A and actually timed it.
DD and DSiL did get boarding passes for Tron twice. They were in Boarding Group 23 both times!
DW and I really enjoyed riding the railroad again, it's been a looooong time.
On our last night we grabbed hot dogs at Casey's and then sat at the tables outside The Plaza to eat. We stayed there for Happily Ever After and it worked out very well, we'll definitely do that again.
Dining -
Our breakfasts were in the villa with our order from Amazon Prime. We had sit down meals at Crystal Palace, T-Rex, Rainforest Cafe, and 50's Prime Time and used mobile order for the rest. All of our meals were very good and the DGSs had a blast.
Last thoughts -
Thank goodness for having DVC. Otherwise, I think that the cost of the 2BR SV villa would have been out of reach for us. I have to wonder how other folks do it. Credit cards?
Costs have definitely gone up all around the parks but there are different ways to offset that if you need to
Sunshine Flyer was ok but a Bell Services CM told me that there have been lots of complaints about them being unreliable.
Taking our kids to Disney has always been great but taking the grandkids was even better! We have created a new generation of Disney fans!
Can't wait for our next trip!
