Today I called MS to inquire on the new Poly Tower (set to open 2nd half of 2024).
I asked about points and was told the tower will be part of the original deed and points purchased will be good at the original DVC and new Tower. Can anyone confirm? I have read conflicting information on this and other sites.
Thanks for any help!

Until the announcement is made, it can't really be confirmed. DVC has done it both ways at other resorts.

No one can confirm. There are more hints of late pointing to same association, but not 100%. It seems people buying resale are banking on it too, but I'm holding tight. Just talked with my guide this past week and I'm on his list to be blasted the moment they have info. He is hopeful too but won't go as far as confirming it for me. Other guides I've met recently (was out and about in March looking for sliders) were all kind of feeling the same. Originally it was announced to them as an expansion but.... well it's Disney.
We'll likely find out sometime in the first half of 2024 as the resort is going to open end of 2024.
Historically only 1 resort was not an extension of the original association. That was CCV with BRV. It was down to I think under 25 years at the time. SSR, AKL and VGF all were expansions, not separate.

All of our points are PVB and even our resale is grandfathered in, so I would love the option of other room types at our home resort. Fingers crossed it is part of our existing association. If it is, it balances the property more due to the bungalows. However I do worry our yearly dues may rise… only time will tell. If not included, we can live with that too.

This thread has me asking - Does anyone know or have experienced on whether or not any other DVC resort contract have been extended. I only know of Key West. I have BC, BW, SSR and VB of which I would love the extension of BC and BW.

Except, as someone here I think said, they will probably “extend” by allowing you a head start on buying points at the new resort they create after a down to the studs refurb.

I have to go back and re-read the description of the room types and totals. There will be studios in Poly2 correct?

Towers/single building DVC resorts tend not to be too bad with MFs. Also sharing some fees with a resort can help. My OKW points are getting to be ridiculous in cost. I have BC, BW, SSR and VB of which I would love the extension of BC and BW. They won't do that mistake again. Best they'll do is offer a rebuy discount IMO. The extending of an entire resort with giving a choice is to complicated. I have to go back and re-read the description of the room types and totals. There will be studios in Poly2 correct? No one has said for sure, but likely some.

I have searched and searched and couldn't actually find anything with specifics on what rooms types the tower will have. Did Disney actually announce anything about that, or has everything just been speculation so far? It would obviously make sense that they would have 1 and 2 bedroom suites given the lack at PVB, but has any info actually been released?

However not having at least 1 and 2 bedrooms wouldn't make any sense at all given past plans for PVB.

CMs are the last to receive any info from Disney. So, I agree, until Disney puts something in writing the specifics remain unknown.

Cheers.

I have read conflicting information on this and other sites. Thanks for any help! Update: I received a call from DVC Sales letting me know MS should not have told me this and no decisions have been made on Poly II. They will let me know some time next year when points go on sale if it will be the same resort or new offering.

They really don't have it stated and shouldn't even if they are pretty sure. Things can change.

CM should not be giving out that info. At this point even the guides don’t have any info… I asked my guide the same question in Aug, i was told check back next year…
