Last night, DW and I flew home on SWA and DD flew home on Frontier (she flew to MCO a day after DW and I did). There were a lot of delayed and canceled flights due to weather around the country.
DD was in the Frontier terminal and saw the board showing all of the flight cancellations; she got a little panicky, texted and asked me what she should do if her flight was canceled. My first thought was "stay at the MCO Hyatt and fly home tomorrow." Nope, won't work. She's 20 and the Hyatt FAQ says that 21 is the minimum age to book a room. I check Hilton. Also 21.
My sister is staying at All Stars. I think, "Uber to WDW and stay with your aunt and we'll find a flight home for tomorrow." DD isn't comfortable using Uber/Lyft alone. I think "car service" and I get the number for the service we've used multiple times over the years. Murray Hill Transportation. I text the owner (number is on the website), John Murray, explain the situation and he replies, "Let me know if she needs us, I can have a driver there in about 30 minutes." This is at 10 PM last night. I tell DD to text him so he knows who she is, and to keep him (and me, obviously) update on her slight status.
Once she was on the plane and taking off, I texted him to say thanks, her plane just took off.
This guy knows me only via using his business and he was ready to help if the situation went south.
