Well poop, would be very nice if onsite people had a perk or two with park reservations. I'm beyond tired of it and the park hopping.
Nice way to thank the DVC people who just got APs but not others offsite with dated tickets. And barf on returning the DDP. The dining has suffered since covid and the plan honestly never helps.

I was just coming back on to post the bad news helenabear . That sucks for anyone staying onsite with an AP. ☹️

Our vacation begins on January 06, 2024 so we will have to make park reservations for a few days. Hopefully they will have made Genie+ revisions by then. I wonder if they will bring Tables in Wonderland back along with the dining plans?

I wonder if they will bring Tables in Wonderland back along with the dining plans? I really don't expect them to bring back TiW. If they do, it will be a vastly different program with a lot less value.

Agree 100% across the board. I just became an AP holder first the first time. Way to dampen my excitement. And I have been pretty disappointed with a lot of the Disney dining experiences lately (not all of course). And the dining plan is over-priced. We have done a lot of Door Dash and pizza deliveries to our resort for dinner over the last few years. We still eat at our favs but have done less sit-down meals. I will say that I plan to do more sit down meals on the next trip because someone explained the "trick" to book meals earlier. I have been wanting to try the Space 220 Lounge and Beaches & Cream, but I could never get a reservation for 6. And finally getting back to Ohana on this next trip.

So for those with neither date based tickets nor APs, do we think that the “good to go” dates not apply and a park reservation will be needed?

I could be wrong, but I feel like I was able to buy G+ in advance right after it came out. That would be nice. And booking the LL's ahead of time? You mean like Fast Passes? I swear. They used COVID as an opportunity to get rid of FPs. Then they brought it back and slightly different as a paid service under a different name (LLs). Now that we have been conditioned that we have to pay for it, they start making it more like FPs used to be. Eventually, it will be a paid service called Fast Pass.

So for those with neither date based tickets nor APs, do we think that the “good to go” dates not apply and a park reservation will be needed? Disney have provided a list of ticket types that won't need park reservations and those that will still need park reservations. No Theme Park Reservation Required - Date-based 1-day ticket
- Date-based multi-day ticket
- Vacation package with date-based tickets
Theme Park Reservation Required - Student group tickets
- Sport and Convention ticket
- Annual Pass
- All other ticket types not mentioned above
The "good-to-go days" when a park reservation is not needed will apply only to Annual Passholders and Cast Members. disneyworld.disney.go.com/experience-updates/park-reservations/?CMP=ILC-DPFY23Q3wo0504230031A#drawer-card-beyondJanuary

Personally, I wish they had just started charging for the old FP+ system. I would have happily paid - maybe grumbled about the price increase, but I was happy with the system. G+ I don't like. Especially the same day reservations. If I can get them in advance, I just might start buying it.

But the FP+ system was so much better. I don't know how ANYONE at Disney thinks the new system is better for guests. It was a money grab, and the Genie system is a way to try to manage crowd distribution at the park.

Good news, bad news, and maybe hope for more good news down the road? So happy to see park reservations start to go bye-bye but I also think it would have been a nice perk to provide onsite guests with any kind of ticket only: stay on property with us and no park reservations needed! It will be interesting to see how many "good to go days" are available. If the number of days where AP holders and CMs need reservations is pretty low (i.e., only during the most busy days of year), then park reservations might not be that much of a pain. Now, I'll patiently wait for the announcement that park hopping is no longer limited to after 2pm. That one still affects and annoys us the most.

I have some old partly used tickets with non-expire days, as well as some non-expire tickets, so I suppose a park reservation would continue to be needed for either.
