It took Disney 6 years to get the Starcruiser open and it only lasted 18months. Disney finally found a price point that guests refused to pay.

Great concept..... But it was too pricey for what you got. I knew it would fail.
Unfortunately, I don't see a use for the building after it closes.

We did it. We loved it. Yes it’s expensive, but you’re basically at a show with actors performing for 20 hours? And not just actors, they can improv and they have great memory about previous conversations.
Basically we paid for a super exclusive once in a lifetime experience.
What is wrong with Rey?

It is very near the back of the current Star Wars area. Seems like it could be an area for added attractions.

I'm happy for those who got to do it. I never would have - just don't play in that financial sandbox at this point in life. And that's okay.
But it wasn't just the price that doomed Starcruiser. It was the time investment too. You were locking down two days of a vacation on something that had no escape - they didn't even build a pool, which has always baffled me. So you effectively excluded:
- folks without the funds readily available - families who might put the funds together, but who don't all *love* Star Wars and can't justify dragging little Timmy who just wants to ride Test Track around - just about everyone who had already done it once (what was the repeatability?) - people who are uncomfortable with interaction on that scale - foreign guests who did not understand the experience (there was a reason you had to book over the phone, not just online, to prevent confusion from people expecting a 'normal' hotel) - a bunch of smaller groups I'm forgetting
Disney made a bet that the pool that remained would be enough to keep Starcruiser going, and lost. I'm glad they tried it, I hope they can come up with some kind of day tour because I think that's a fine idea, but I also won't mourn its passing.

Great idea, but way too expensive for the average person who attends Walt Disney World to afford. I am really not surprised that it didn't last very long. Most things don't if they don't contribute to the bottom line.

Expecting this at some point, but was really, really surprised it's happening so soon. I thought it would limp along a bit longer. From the get go, DH and I knew we'd not be doing this, even though we are both crazy SW fanatics. This interactive, role playing stuff, was just not all what we're interested in.Also, the price tag was just waaaaay too many credits. What we are totally interested in, is a incredibly themed Star Wars hotel. If they do convert it to that, we'd be planning a stay. I hope they can make that happen, Keep the themed lounge, food, put a bunch of character meets, rooms full of props, some activities. and add a lot more details, Easter eggs, etc. DH doesn't like the sequels at all, and he'd want it themed to the originals, or maybe the Mandalorian era. I'm ok with whatever. But I do wish Disney would drop that too. I know why Batuu was conceived that way, for total immersion, but I"d rather just have Star Wars land as a whole. covering all time periods SOOOO hope they'll just turn it into just a super themed Star Wars hotel.

Did anyone here experience it? Any plans to do so before it closes? Yep I'm glad we booked it when we did! I can't wait. We booked at full price but when the AP discount hit we scored some big savings. We’re booked for the June 6th voyage! I always had a feeling it was going to be too good to last. Every spoiler free review I’ve read has been extremely positive. Our friends just got back and they weren’t complaining about what they paid. They were blown away! We’ve never done anything like this and just getting ready has been a blast. We’ve all got back stories and costumes for each day and the regalia. I honestly can’t wait!! I know! I read the reviews and cringe cuz I personally know so many who have gone and rave about it. It includes meals, admission and fast passes. $5k for a family is... dinners $500 ea, breakfasts $300, Docking Bay, snacks, admission, FastPasses for Rise and Falcon. Around $2000 just for the extras. If the room is worth $1000/nt like a Deluxe, that's another $2000, so $1000 for the immersion rounds it out. You have to want all that of course. If you don't, it's not for you. Disney offered something for the Star Wars fan who wants to play Star Wars again like when we were kids. I love that they pushed the envelope and tried something outrageous. Attempts like this lead to experiences that go beyond a mass crowd waiting to ride the same ride. We have our costumes ready to go and are just thinking about some back stories. Would love to hear more about what you did! We're super excited, and knowing we'll get to experience this toward the end of its run means we're getting to do something really special. This was entertainment that wasn't just "watching something" but "being part of something" and that is phenomenal. I’m expecting them to absorb it into Galaxy’s Edge in some way. They will. Either the props / components, or excursions from the park maybe. But it wasn't just the price that doomed Starcruiser. It was the time investment too. You were locking down two days of a vacation on something that had no escape - they didn't even build a pool. - families who don't all *love* Star Wars - everyone who had already done it once (what was the repeatability?) - people who are uncomfortable with interaction on that scale - foreign guests who did not understand the experience. You have good points here, but not everything needs to be universal - many adults would think imagining a story or dressing up is stupid. This was made for the fan base not the typical guest... There just aren't enough in this niche to keep it going at least by my math. You wouldn't need a pool. Our booking has opened up our datapad and I can see our time is going to be go go Star Wars. We have a hotel afterwards and can do the pool there. We'll see where they go next w the franchise... until then I'm glad we'll get to join this universe.

This is a bummer for us, we were likely among many "just waiting for the price to come down a bit to book".
We almost didn't by into DRR or GVF2 because I thought they might build a SW themed hotel, so the one thing I liked about Starcruiser was that it reduced that risk for me. Does anyone know where the rooms actually are? Is there a chance this could be converted into a hotel?

My DS, his fiance, friend and myself did the Star Cruiser back in May 2023. We really enjoyed it. My DS actually ad-libbed some story elements and the actors went along with it. I love the Light Saber training the best. My cons, besides the cost, was how small the rooms are (especially with 4 adults and their luggage) plus it was too immersive for my social anxiety self. I did love seeing how everyone else was in costume and had their back stories!
